This was Rick Winters in 1983, climbing up the steel tower at SeaWorld in San Diego. Rick completed a 172-foot high record breaking dive that day, an event televised by ABC's Wide World of Sports. This dive was part of the World Record High Dive Challenge. 😳 They are talking to him and he’s carrying on a normal conversation like it’s a regular day. I could never climb that high or talk to anyone. He’s so calm and moves around that tiny platform while it shakes like it is no big deal. 🤯 His family was in attendance watching him. Humans are crazy. 💯 Just watching him climb and talk at the same time and watching him backwards makes me feel anxious. I’ll stick to the diving board at a normal pool. Do you remember hearing about this or watching it? Could anyone ever pay you an amount of money to climb that high, let alone dive into a pool?

Mario Pezzi set a world altitude record in a Caproni Ca.161 biplane, climbing to 51,362 ft in a pioneering pressurized electrically heated suit that resembled early astronaut gear. In 1938 he enclosed the cockpit in an air tight shell, the first in aviation history, and set a new world record for altitude in a propeller-driven, piston-engined aircraft at 56,047 ft, a record still unbeaten today.👀
