104-year-old Dorothy Hoffner made a tandem skydive that landed her in the record books as the world’s oldest skydiver. She jumped out of a plane from 13,500 feet. “Age is just a number,” Hoffner told a cheering crowd moments after landing. It was not her first time jumping from a plane — that happened when she was a spry 100 years of age. Dorothy passed away one week later, peacefully in her sleep at her care home.

Crazy footage from 2014 shows Christopher Jones doing a routine training dive to become a skydive instructor. At 9,000 feet, Jones fell unconscious and suffered a seizure mid-air. Thankfully, his instructor, Sheldon McFarlane, was able to pull his ripcord and save him from the bad ending.
