This guy's post is ridiculous but since he brought up Obama and Ukraine, here's a video of Obama speaking on the subject after Putin annexed Crimea in 2014. It's a great video to watch and share for when people try to gaslight about Obama. Some quick context... From 1991 to 2014 Crimea had operated as an autonomous part of Ukraine. The international community (including Russia) recognized Crimea as part of Ukraine during this time, although Putin did regularly talk about wanting to take it back and there were occasional disputes. In February of 2014 Russia began seizing control of Crimea. Russian special forces seized the parliament and other government facilities. They installed a pro-Russia administration, seized the airports, etc. In March a referendum was held in Crimea. Over 95% supported joining Russia. Since the referendum took place under military occupation, the international community rejected it. (BTW the IC still rejects it to this day.) Didn't matter though, Putin annexed Crimea in 2014. After taking control of Crimea, Putin then immediately moved over 30,000 troops to the Russia/Ukraine border. Tanks, planes, artillery, all on the border, ready to go. Now to the video of Obama speaking on all of this. After Putin took Crimea and moved troops to the border of Ukraine, Obama is asked if he was wrong about his statement during the 2012 debate, during which he mocked Romney for calling Russia our biggest threat. "The 1980's are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back. The Cold War has been over for 20 years." Obama doubles down and explains that Russia invading Ukraine is not a threat to us. "Russia is a regional power threatening some of its immediate neighbors, not out of strength but out of weakness." Russia is not a serious threat to us. This is a regional matter. Ukraine should figure it out on their own. Many people in Ukraine want a relationship with Russia. That's how Obama talked about the events. Notice how there was none of the ridiculous talk of "we must stop Putin or he will take over Europe"? Obama didn't even give Ukraine weapons to defend themselves. He slapped some meaningless sanctions on Russia and that was it. In July of 2014 Russian backed separatists shot down a passenger plane over eastern Ukraine, killing 298 people, including one American citizen. Obama held a press conference and urged European leaders to "do more" to stop the conflict. Obama did send Biden to Ukraine a bunch of times. We all know how that worked out. Throughout all of Obama's impotent response to Russia's actions, the MSM never called Obama "Putin's puppet." They just continued the sycophancy. I defended South Carolina's Voter ID law 13 years ago, and in 2024 I joined a coalition of 22 state attorneys general urging Congress to pass the SAVE Act. Every American should want secure elections. Protecting the integrity of our federal elections is not partisan. It is a national priority. I applaud President Donald J. Trump Trump for doing everything he can to get the SAVE Act across the finish line. He promised to secure our elections, and he's using every tool available to keep that promise.

Jake Tapper puts out a video "fact checking" claims by Pence and Pompeo that it was the opinion of the intelligence agencies that Russia did not affect the outcome of the 2016 election. Tapper said the intelligence agencies never made an assessment if Russia affected the outcome of the election. That was his important fact check. Tapper had no idea that he was citing a completely bogus intelligence report that was created to undermine the Trump presidency. Not that he or CNN would have ever questioned anything put out by the Obama admin. On the other hand, Trump puts out info on China and CNN immediately starts trying to debunk it. Tapper didn't fact check any of the hundreds of Democrats who claimed that Russia did affect the outcome of the election. Just those claiming it didn't. He sure loved that Russia hoax.
