JT Weaver was excellent in the first game, throwing a complete game shutout with 4 hits allowed and 4 Ks. Austin Baal had 2 HR and 4 RBI in that game, he went 3-for-5 in the doubleheader. Justin Byler went 2-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI in Game 2, he went 3-for-7 on the day. The Raiders have one PSAC series remaining and sit 4th in the PSAC East (Top 4 each division get in). #D2Baseball

Cam Skattebo not on the field for the Giants to end the first half has my mind in a pretzel. The Giants started the drive after a turnover with Tracy on the field. This may have been because it was an outside run design they liked for him. They swap in Skattebo, who clearly would be fresh for a 1st and 5 run. Nothing there but run for 0. 2 Minute warning. With the long timeout, clearly Skattebo would be fresh. They swap in Najee Harris and run the ball from 22 personnel on 2nd and 5. You would think a heavy personnel run against a tough look would be a Skattebo specialty. Gain of 3. 3rd and 2, Skattebo still not in. Najee Harris stays in the game. They decide to run the ball against a cover 0 look that had basically no chance. Loss of 3. Giants could have called timeout before the snap and discussed because this play was dead before the snap by alignment. If I was running into a bad look, I certainly would want Skattebo in as his yards after contact skill would be helpful.

Casey Swiderski did not wrestle on Friday, so 4-Time State Champion out of Tuttle, and True Freshman, Beau Hickman got the call at 149. It was a great match as Hickman went toe to toe with Herman, who is the #23-ranked wrestler at 149. Herman hit a nice shot early in the match to get the first takedown of both that match and the dual overall. Hickman got out pretty quickly, so the score was 3-1. Herman hit another good shot, but Hickman somehow got out of it. It looked like he was going to be the one to get the points, but both wrestlers went off the mat, and neither could score for the remainder of the period, so 3-1 headed to the 2nd. Hickman started in the top position in the 2nd period and rode Herman for the entire period for 1:44 riding time. So, an escape in 44 seconds or less would tie the match. Hickman got out fast, so riding time had the match tied, next takedown wins. Herman hit a high crotch for a takedown to take a 6-2 lead, then went to work on the riding time, but Hickman got out in time to secure the riding time. A stall call was called on Herman, so the score was 6-4, with 1 point of riding time coming for Hickman with 59 seconds left, both wrestlers on their feet.
