The very purpose of a Carbon Tax is to change behavior by making things more expensive. When you tax energy, you create additional costs at every step in the value chain that compound along the way. The rebate does not compensate Canadians for this. To claim that the carbon tax isn't doing exactly what it is intended to do is disingenuous at best, and flat out lies at worst.

I live in BC, zero carbon rebates have landed in my bank account. The Carbon Tax paid on my natural gas is actually greater than what I pay for the product itself. I have the receipts.

I am smart enough to know that any rebate I get is costing me 3x what I am getting due to taxes admin and inflation caused by the carbon tax and excessive Liberal government spending. I hope that most Canadians are smart enough to understand the math that you are trying to spin.

Liberals are much more impressed by taking our money and then giving it back to us than the average Canadian is.
