In a daring daylight robbery, two motorcycle-borne thieves allegedly stole ₹5 lakh in cash from a vehicle parked on the Nagpur–Savner Highway near Pimpla Dakbangla in the Khaparkheda area. The incident took place on Monday afternoon. According to police, Sampat Sahu and Atul Kale had withdrawn ₹5 lakh from... a branch of HDFC Bank in Nagpur and kept the cash in a bag on the dashboard of their Maruti van. Police said the accused, who arrived on a motorcycle, allegedly targeted the parked vehicle and fled with the cash within minutes. CASH-IN-TRANSIT HEIST RUSTENBURG Police have launched an investigation following a CITRobbery that occurred at approximately 16:40 on Monday, 16 February 2026, in Old Geelhout Park, Rustenburg. It is alleged that security personnel were travelling in a cash-in-transit vehicle along Kremetart Street when a Toyota Fortuner travelling in the opposite direction collided with the driver’s side door of the cash vehicle. The vehicle was forced to stop and was subsequently blocked by a Toyota Hilux (Legend) double cab bakkie. Approximately 15 armed suspects allegedly overpowered the security officers and instructed them to unlock the doors. The guards were removed from the vehicle, dragged a short distance away from the cash vehicle and made to lie face down on the ground. One armed guard was disarmed while the suspects gained access to the vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects allegedly set alight both the cash-in-transit vehicle and the Toyota Fortuner used in the collision. Several shots were fired during the incident. The suspects fled the scene, and no injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage. Seven people have been arrested in connection with the case. The deceased, identified as Yancy, suffered severe head injuries after being knocked off a motorcycle by a car allegedly driven by one of the accused.
