A New Era of Sustainable Waste Management in Nagpur 🌱 Inspected the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's 'Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant' at the Bhandewadi Dumping Yard, which is set to turn the vision of a waste-free city into reality. Operated by the international industrial conglomerate KEVA SusBDe, the facility will process 1200 tons of waste generated daily in Nagpur. To be completed in 3 phases, the project will ensure that all daily waste generated in the city is processed using advanced technologies. Through this project, both wet and dry waste will be collected and processed. The treatment process will generate biogas, high-quality compost fertilizer, and fuel pellets from dry waste. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has allotted 30 acres of land for the initiative and will receive an annual royalty of ₹15,00,000 from gas sales. Directed the administration to extend all necessary support for its successful implementation. The biogas generated through this project will be utilised to supply CNG for 198 city buses. In addition, the project will provide energy pellets required by MAHAGENCO, further contributing to sustainable energy generation and resource utilisation. This landmark project will reinforce Nagpur’s position as a national model for sustainable solid waste management and environmentally responsible urban development. We welcome this major announcement for our region, and look forward to working closely with the Union and the State Government to ensure rapid development of our Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars region. Under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Sh. Suvendu Adhikari ji, the BJP government in West Bengal is working to ensure inclusive development of all regions in the state. As promised, we were at Ologuneru this afternoon to meet with residents affected by the development of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road. After listening to their concerns, I restated our administration’s decision to implement the minimum 150m on each side in densely populated or built-up areas along the corridor. This covers the road and setback following best practices for such projects. Meanwhile, the 500m corridor will be implemented in areas that are not built-up. I also directed that the Oyo State New Towns and Cities Development Authority will henceforth, be in charge of all issues regarding the Circular Road Development Corridor. They will liaise with stakeholders and the representatives of affected residents to address any additional complaints. I also promised that we will ensure that adequate compensation is paid before any further demolitions take place and that the cases of residents who were inadequately compensated will be revisited.

So, in March 2024, when we tried to revitalize this unit, we have encountered a lot of suffering I must say. And even during the construction, it was a lot of struggles with the new equipment that we ordered to replace the old one. Some Burkinabè who applied to work at the reconstruction have again sabotaged the new equipment that had arrived. So, we had to take some specific security measures in order to achieve the result that you see. This is to say that it’s an industrial unit that is being fought by imperialism and their local valets. But we are resolutely committed to revive this unit, but also all the units that are struggling, because the industrialization of Burkina Faso like we said, we want it and we will do it, because it’s a big value chain that is produced here. Soon, maybe we will inaugurate another unit in Bobo Dioulasso that will produce semolinas and derivatives which will take into account raw materials of this industrial unit Many jobs will be created, and our corn that our valiant farmers are producing will be used. We have just wrapped up the inaugural session of the Two-Day Roundtable on Insecurity in Northern Nigeria organized by The Coalition of Northern Groups. At the first session, we embarked on a comprehensive and technical discussion on the multifaceted security challenges that have beleaguered our region, with a view to identifying the appropriate solutions alongside security specialists, policymakers, and political leaders. As we prepare for the second session of the day, delving deep into the root causes and intricate dynamics of this crisis, it is my hope that the actionable and sustainable solutions that will be provided from this roundtable will be implemented to ensure the enduring peace and stability of the north and the entire nation.

The road construction on Princess Park Street has been progressing quite well and we grateful for the continued support and patience of the community and road users. The final road layer is in progress and it is anticipated that the surfacing be completed by Friday 12 December 2025. The safety of the road users is the core priority and it is for this reason that the Roads and Transport will implement pre-markings and install temporary stop signs for the entire festive season as the road will be open for traffic soon. As the MMC for Roads and Transport I have visited the site on regular basis since the commencement of construction ,to ensure that the set milestones and commitments to the residents of Tshwane are fulfilled.

#WATCH | Hyderabad | On PIL challenging Industrial Land Transformation Policy, Petitioners' Counsel, Advocate Prateek Reddy says, "A PIL was filed by an environmentalist and retired professor challenging the HILTP GO, wherein the government intends to selectively convert, on an application made by an individual landowner, land in the industrial zone into a multi-use zone. Post-conversion, the GO itself permits residences, schools, hospitals, etc. This was challenged primarily on three grounds. First, it violates the existing master plan, which demarcates industrial zones as “manufactured use zones,” and in those zones the zonal development plan prohibits construction of residences and schools. So the GO is directly contrary to the zonal plan and to the HMD Act. The Supreme Court and this Court have held that as long as zones are fixed in the master plan, any conversion can only happen by amending the master plan. That process has not been followed. Second, in 2013 the government issued a GO stating that all polluting industrial units must be shifted from the present industrial zone to outside the Outer Ring Road, and that only after shifting can there be a change in land use. The present GO does not say this. It claims to draw power from the 2013 GO and says its intentions are the same... The present GO says existing industrial units will continue, and whoever opts for conversion will be charged 30% of sub-registrar value as a one-time fee... Third, Supreme Court law clearly states that industrial units and residential units cannot co-exist due to pollution... We raised all these grounds. The Advocate General made a fair statement in reply, stating that the government will follow the 2013 GO, which says "no conversion till shifting", and that it will follow the HMDA Act and issue notifications. When we pressed for interim relief, the Court said that since there is a plain and clear statement by the Learned Advocate General that they will scrupulously follow the 2013 GO, which prohibits change in land use prior to shifting, we need not have any apprehension. The Court said such a statement must be given due weightage..." (05.12)
