@EmilyJBashforth My daughter wrote JW a letter when she was 7 and she wrote her a postcard back by hand with a little bunny drawn on. I sat next to her at a book awards when I was 10 & she actually remembered me & drew my daughter the same picture she drew for me.

she’s a legend. my friends wrote to her a few years ago telling her how big of a fan i was when i was younger and she wrote me a post-card for my 21st birthday. absolute queen.

My daughter went to her book signing many years ago. There was such a large queue but she said she would stay till she had seen every child and she did hours after Waterstones had closed.

There was and still is a supreme joy in seeing my kids reading Jaqueline wilson books and having the same utter obsession over them, even now as a quirky alternative goth they still hold those books close and ask me for other copies. We still need to watch my mom tracy beaker 🩷
