BIG update on the Bricks & Minifigs vs Reckless Ben case! Ben had a court hearing this morning, and in an incredibly risky move, he confirmed to the judge that he is representing himself *pro se*. The host notes that how these criminal misdemeanors play out could heavily impact his larger, entirely separate civil RICO lawsuit. Reckless Ben's latest legal update involves two specific misdemeanor charges in the Provo Justice Court of Utah. The first is disorderly conduct (Class C), covering refusal of a police order to move or causing a public disruption. The second is criminal trespass (Class B), which highlights unlawfully entering property, including flying an unmanned drone over the premises after receiving clear warnings or seeing fencing. An awkward moment occurred right at the start when Ben admitted he accidentally clicked the wrong button while logging into the digital courtroom. This technical blunder trapped him in a private virtual room alone with the prosecutor before the judge even arrived. The main procedural update is that the defense needs time to review specific video footage that Ben originally handed over to law enforcement, which the prosecutor has agreed to share. Additionally, because Ben lives in Los Angeles, he hasn't been properly fingerprinted for this Utah case. The judge ordered him to visit an L.A. police station, obtain a physical fingerprint card, and mail it to the Utah court. The case has been officially pushed forward, with the next follow-up hearing scheduled for **July 6th at 11:00 AM Utah time**.

Bricks and Minifigs - from BAD to WORSE! This is the body cam footage of the Utah police talking to the former franchisee about the Bricks and Minifigs (BAM) Reckless Ben situation. The man puts the CEO of BAM, Ammon McNeff, on the phone. McNeff says a number of interesting things: 1) He ADMITS that the family is owed the money, but denies that he or the new franchisee owe it. I reserve the right to be mistaken, but my understanding of franchise law is that although the franchisor is typically NOT liable for the debts of the franchisee, there are circumstances under which they can be - e.g. if they exercise sufficient control over the franchisee, such that the franchisee can be considered an “agent” under the law. Given the degree of involvement the CEO is displaying with the new franchisee (the guy holding the phone), that argument might be made here. 2) He ADMITS the money is owed, but claims that Ben (Reckless Ben) has no interest in it. This too is not necessarily true if the owner of the LEGOs assigned his claim to Ben. But set that possibility aside… 3) McNeff says that Ben and the others threatened to kill someone, attempted to commit extortion, and other serious crimes. Again, under reserve of the right to be wrong, while it’s not illegal to lie per se to an officer in Utah, my understanding is that it is illegal to make false statements with the intention of getting officers to conduct official acts (i.e. press charges). With the accusations he is making - that Ben threatened to kill someone! - McNeff might be getting close to that line. 4) McNeff ADMITS the money is owed, but claims the former franchisee broke all sorts of rules in contracting with the LEGO owner, which is why the franchisor terminated their agreement. Depending on the knowledge of the misconduct of the franchisee, that might be another argument for the potential liability of corporate - if they knowingly let the franchisee break rules to the detriment / fraud of customers. All that to say, the more McNeff talks, the more damage he causes to the brand and goodwill of BAM - even if Reckless Ben did cross certain lines.

Bricks and Minifigs: This story is extremely disturbing showcasing not only the corruption within the Utah police department but as well as the unlawful activity going on within Multi million dollar corporations. Bricks and Minifigs allegedly stole $200,000 worth of Star Wars LEGO sets from an innocent family. The family then called upon their last hope, “RecklessBen” on YouTube. Ben promised to do everything he could to help, including serving the owners, taking them to court, getting them to admit their wrongdoings, and much more. He actually won a case in small claims court, but Bricks and Minifigs still refused to return the LEGO sets or pay RecklessBen the money awarded through the lawsuit. Instead, they decided to shut down the entire LEGO store to avoid Ben at all costs, claiming he was harassing them and spreading false information. However, Ben had evidence prepared and available, which ultimately contributed to his victory in court and in the media. Ben then decided to publicly host a closing ceremony for Bricks and Minifigs which gained significant attention. The media caught on, and Bricks and Minifigs responded by disabling comments across their platforms. They also reportedly sent an email to employees throughout the country explaining how to respond to questions regarding the controversy and alleged corruption. That email was later leaked by an insider employee. Furthermore, Ben decided to file another lawsuit. Before doing so, however, he was required to attempt to settle the matter outside of court. Ben traveled to Utah to visit one of the owners of Bricks and Minifigs, “Joshua Johnson.” While attempting to settle the dispute, Ben noticed Johnson speaking on the phone. Suddenly, three separate police vehicles arrived at the property. The officers followed Ben and his driver, pulled them over, and accused them of running a stop sign. However, video footage later obtained by Ben from the police department allegedly showed otherwise, suggesting the traffic stop was unjustified. The police appeared to know exactly who RecklessBen was. Eventually, they let him go, but later showed up at either his home or Airbnb. Ben never received a clear explanation as to why they were there, leading the media to believe it was an act of intimidation. With no other options, RecklessBen visited another owner, “Brandon Best,” who was reportedly involved in the removal of the original store owner and the alleged theft of the $200,000 worth of Star Wars LEGO sets. Ben asked whether Brandon intended to pay the court ordered judgment. Predictably, Brandon did not wish to speak. Instead, he contacted the police. Once again, officers appeared dismissive of Ben’s claims and unwilling to consider the information he presented. In the end, Ben was able to document that he had made a genuine effort to settle the dispute in person, which satisfied the court’s requirements and allowed the lawsuit to proceed. Later, Ben discovered that both Brandon and Joshua were members of the Mormon faith. Within Mormon teachings, theft is considered morally wrong. This detail becomes relevant later in the story. Eventually, Ben and his driver began heading home from where ever off, when they were once again pulled over by Utah police. Officers spent hours searching their vehicle for alleged illegal substances such as heroin. They also attempted to pressure the driver into admitting he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The driver repeatedly denied these accusations and remained cooperative throughout the encounter. Eventually, they were released. Ben later obtained dashcam footage, but noticed that portions of the officers’ audio had been redacted. This raised concerns for him regarding transparency within the department. Ben questioned why those conversations needed to be removed and whether officers were searching for any possible reason to arrest him or his crew. Part two coming soon.. #erudition

🚨Breaking Mullaitivu District Judge T. Saravanaraja has resigned from his posts and left the country due to the life threats, pressures and harassments he has faced since delivering the order on #Kurunthoormalai issue. The Department of Archeology has been trying to build in violation of the court order a Buddhist Temple in Kurunthoormalai. The order concerned declared that the Director of Department of Archeology had repeatedly violated three court orders previously issued and tried to build a Buddhist vihara illegally. Since delivering the said order, honourable judge T. Saravanaraja has been subjected to constant harassment and threats. Here is what he told the media about this: 🚨 “Constant pressure was applied by the government to reverse the orders I had issued in Kurunthoornalai case. 🚨Members of Parliament such as Sarath Weerasekera and others belonging to the majority community have issued threats against my life, both in Parliament as well as outside it. 🚨The police protection afforded to me (the judge) was recently reduced, whilst the intelligence officers continued to surveil me. 🚨 The Attorney General invited me (Judge) to meet him in his office on 21.09.2023 and during the meeting he compelled me to reverse the orders that I had issued in the Kurundurmalai case. 🚨Moreover, two cases have been filed against me personally in the Court of Appeal in connection with the Kurunthoormalai case. I have had to resigned from all my much beloved judicial posts due to life threats, pressures and harassments that I have been subjected to since delivering the order. The abovesaid are just a handful of examples of the threats, pressures and harassments I received." He said that he had sent the resignation letter to the Secretary of the Judicial Services Commission through registered post on 23-09-2023. This incident demonstrates the state of rule of law in the island. If a Tamil judge is subjected to such threats, one can only imagine the conditions under which the Tamil people are suffering under, let alone Tamil activists. video - The attempts by Sarath Weerasekara MP to obstruct the field investigation by the Mullaitivu Magistrate of Kurunthoormalai illegal construction on 07th of July 2023 .
