A man has recounted an unexpected encounter with his former basic school teacher, who he claims now works at a washing bay. He recalled that the teacher once beat him and told him he was “good for nothing” after he failed a paper. According to the man, the teacher appeared visibly uncomfortable and attempted to hide while washing his car. He used the incident to advise teachers to be cautious in how they treat students.

In an extremely disturbing incident from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, 6-Year-Old LKG student Pranay Tej died after he was scolded and slapped for not completing homework at Little Garden School in One Town Area of the city by a Female Teacher. CCTV footage of the classroom shows that the boy, holding his slate, standing in a queue in front of the teacher, visibly panicked. The teacher pulled him closer and slapped him on his cheek. Within seconds, the boy was seen collapsing onto the teacher. Family of the child rejected the claim that the Boy was unwell and claimed that he died because of fear and shock.

Ayush Kumar Nath, an 8-year-old Class 3 student at Maharishi Vidyamandir School in Tollygunge, informed his class teacher on May 13th that he was feeling unwell at school. His class teacher instructed him to sit with his head bowed. After being made to sit with his head down under the scorching sun from morning until late afternoon, he began to feel even more unwell. Nevertheless, his class teacher ordered him to carry his own bag. While descending the stairs with the heavy bag, the ailing Ayush lost his balance and tumbled down. He sustained a severe head injury and was admitted to the hospital. Ayush suffered a brain hemorrhage and slipped into a coma; ten days later last Tuesday he passed away. Subsequently, the parents of the students erupted in protest. They alleged that, over the past ten days, the school authorities had not even bothered to make a single inquiry. They demanded the arrest of the Head of Management, Shaktipada Jana; the Principal, Susmita Chakraborty; and the class teacher in question, Pragya Sahu. They were indeed arrested, but for some 'unknown' reason, they were released within just one day. When the parents reiterated their demand for re-arrest today, the police baton-charged them.
