In an interview for #AlMayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi discusses Iran's diplomatic strategy, explaining that he thinks it is a "combination of things." Professor Marandi elaborated that, on the one hand, Iran is further strengthening its ties with friendly countries as seen in Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's diplomatic trip to Russia, Oman, and Pakistan. He added that the Iranians want the international community to see that Iran is open to negotiations and is not the party responsible for the current global economic crisis. "It wants to show the international community that Netanyahu and Trump are creating this global misery," he said. Seyed Mohammad Marandi #Iran #Russia #Oman #Pakistan #DonaldTrump

In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that he does not think #Iran wants to change mediators, explaining that the problem is with the US, not the mediators. As for Iran's relationship with #Oman, Professor Marandi noted that they have a very good relationship, explaining that Oman did not participate in this war like other #Gulf states. "So obviously, Iran has good relations with Oman, and it will discuss relations with countries in the region, as well as the situation with the United States, with Oman because they have experience with the #UnitedStates and they have longstanding relations with countries in the region," Professor Marandi said. He also noted that Iran and Oman share the Strait of Hormuz, adding that they need to coordinate on a host of different issues. Seyed Mohammad Marandi #IranWar #WarOnIran

Speaking to Al Mayadeen on Sunday, Professor Mohammad Marandi affirmed that the Iranian armed forces, including the guards, “do not make decisions” independently, explaining that they carry out decisions made by the state, in this case by the Supreme National Security Council. “Any strike by the Iranians is endorsed by the state and by state institutions,” he said. Professor Marandi also noted that the developments in Oman did not constitute direct negotiations with the United States, stressing that Iran has previously stated that no further negotiations will take place until Washington fulfills its obligations under the MoU. In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that he believes that the trip of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's parliament speaker, to Doha, Qatar, was successful. He explained that there were two agendas, one of which was to ensure that if there were a US-Iran agreement, Iranian money "effectively stolen by the US government would be quickly returned to Iran." The second reason, according to Professor Marandi, is to pave the way for a new environment, a new condition for these countries to shift policy away from Washington. Professor Mohammad Marandi tells Al Mayadeen that Iran does not seek to disrupt global shipping or harm sailors in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that restrictions imposed by Tehran target countries that backed US and Israeli actions against Iran. In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi argued that Iran has emerged from the US war in a stronger position and will not accept compromises that weaken its control over the Strait of Hormuz or its previously agreed positions. "Iran is not going to change its position on the Strait of Hormuz," Marandi asserted, adding that due to the renewed US aggression, "Iran will have further demands," especially regarding Yemen He stressed that Tehran is not currently seeking a ceasefire and remains prepared for escalation, stressing that "the Iranians won the war" and "have the upper hand," leaving Tehran with "no reason… to compromise on anything." Speaking to Al Mayadeen on Saturday, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that it is a "general belief that has been supported by evidence" that the US is "completely unreliable". Professor Marandi said that the Iranians have been "very smart", explaining that they showed the international community that Tehran is seeking a peaceful resolution and at the same time they showed it that the US is not only "an aggressive regime" but also, when it comes to negotiations, Washington is "unreliable, untrustworthy, and utterly dishonest." In an interview for #AlMayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi clarified that the #UnitedStates "is being utterly ignorant in its confrontation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the axis of resistance." He explained that #Iran and the Axis of Resistance have not yet begun escalation and did not initiate the war, but have been trying to prevent the region from being destroyed. Gulf states in the region, Marandi says, miscalculated by underestimating the Axis of Resistance and overestimating the #US, and warned them that their only solution is to back down and force the United States to leave. #IranWar #WestAsia Seyed Mohammad Marandi

In an interview with Al Mayadeen on Wednesday, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that the United States has failed in the 39 days of warfare, as well as in siege warfare. He noted that if the US siege warfare were succeeding, Washington would not be carrying out acts of aggression against Iran, adding that such threats and aggression amount to an admission of failure. Pointing to Trump’s "erratic" behavior, Professor Marandi said he believes it is largely driven by pressure from the "Zionist lobby and Israeli regime," as well as Trump’s "huge ego." In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi highlighted that the supposed one-page agreement Axios shared a few days ago was "complete nonsense", asserting that it was meant for market manipulation. "But the Iranians said that there is no such document and there is no such agreement," he emphasized. Professor Marandi also stressed that the Iranians are not going to give up their peaceful nuclear program, adding, "They're not going to give Trump a deal better than that of Obama." He added that at the moment, Iran's priority is not the nuclear program, it is peace. "And so the discussions on the nuclear program will be left for a later date. That's what the Iranians have told the Americans. And for the Iranians right now, the priority is to have a ceasefire in Lebanon and, of course, in Palestine, but also to end the siege," Professor Marandi said.
