In Memory of Late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون Today, Dubai mourns the loss of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who passed away today at the age of 76. The younger brother of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed was the fourth and youngest son of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. This video is a poignant reminder of the deep brotherly bond between them. Sheikh Ahmed dedicated his life to serving the nation — from graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and serving as Commander of the Central Military Zone, to his roles as Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security, Chairman of A.R.M. Holding, and Chairman of Al Wasl Club. A patron of equestrian sport and Jebel Ali Racecourse, his contributions spanned security, business, philanthropy and sport. As HH Sheikh Mohammed wrote today: "May God have mercy on you, my brother. You are absent from our eyes but not from our prayers and hearts." Dubai has declared a 10-day mourning period, with flags at half-mast. My heartfelt condolences to the Al Maktoum family and the people of the UAE. May Allah have mercy on his soul and grant him the highest place in Paradise. #Dubai #UAE #SheikhAhmedBinRashid
