A nuclear cooling tower crashed down in Hartsville, Tennessee, on Thursday in a controlled implosion. The 540-foot tower was built in the 1970s as part of the Hartsville Nuclear Plant Project, which was discontinued. The Tennessee Valley Authority, the nation’s largest provider of public power, said the concrete from the cooling tower will be ground into smaller pieces and spread out to create a gravel lot on the site. The steel will also be recycled, TVA said.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that. Long after the Flood, the spies of Moses saw the giants, the sons of Anak, and they were like grasshoppers to them. The last time giants are mentioned in the Bible is in the battle of David vs. Goliath, but there is also a modern story of an encounter between American soldiers and the Giant of Kandahar during the war in Afghanistan. A U.S. patrol spotted the giant in a remote area of Kandahar Province, described as being 12–15 feet tall. During the encounter, the giant allegedly killed one American soldier with a spear. The remaining soldiers returned heavy fire and, with great difficulty, killed the giant. The unit was then extracted, and the incident was said to be classified.

No damages to the Florence Ya’ll Water tower, crews say. The power is out and the pump feeding the tower has stopped working. Gravity is letting the water out as it’s designed to do. A worker is trying to shut off the valve for now until the power returns. WLWT

In Super Mario 64 DS, giant characters normally cannot crawl. However, reading a sign pounded halfway into the ground forces the character into a crawling pose. When giant, this results in the character's giant posterior completely blocking the entire screen.
