Can we please go back to this? Technically, I arrived in 2001. Rent was $550 for a big one bedroom, with balcony & parking. People were not dying of overdose everywhere every single day. Everything was cleaner while the city wasn't working so hard to destroy Colfax Blvd 🤮

It was safe, didn’t stink, and was clean. Mentally ill and drug addicts didn’t live on streets. Judges required cash bonds, sentenced convicted criminals to lengthy sentences, and criminals stayed locked up. DPD traffic officers were numerous and prolific. Marijuana was illegal.

As a longtime Denver Native (7+ years), I can say that the lore is that olden times were very rural and charming back then! But we are losing the generation of people who remember those golden days.
