In conclusion?.... Crowley is legally blind.

Snakes also don't see a lot of color, most can only see green and blue. Now even yellow (sobs) which makes their vision more limited at daylight too. As far as we know, Crowley can see red and yellow, so he doesn't have this issue. 🧵

So.... how does Crowley see? Canonically, he eyes work like human eyes, which means he sees the color and things the same way we do. But what about the shape of his pupils? Well, I think that does make a difference for him! Let's talk about that! 🧵

So creature's with slit(vertical) pupils normally have better night vision because they dilate in low light settings, which allow their eyes to reach as much light as they can. So we can asume that Crowley has good night vision, given the shape of his pupils. 🧵

Now, this is the only time we see his eyes at nighttime, and they aren't dilated. It makes sense they hadn't taken this into consideration while filming (it's such a specific details lmao) but it could also be that there's plenty of light in this place. who knows? 🧵

Also, light allows us to see this with vibrant colors and defined shapes, and at night we see blurry and dull because our eyes can't take in much light. For Crowley, shapes might looks clearer at night time because his pupils expand. 🧵

Also ALSO... what happens to us would be the opposite of what happens to Crowley. His eyes contract a lot during the day to take in less light and protect his vision. But since aren't taking much light, colors would look muted and things from far away would appear blurry. 🧵

ALSO x3, most of the snake's vision is focused at the center, where the view their eyes collide. This means that snakes can focus on what is in front of them but their peripheral vision is a little blurry. This is partly due to their eyes location, but also their slit pupils. 🧵

Crowley's eyes are almost always on the front of his face, which means that his peripheral vision is not as bad as a snake's, but his vertical pupils would still make the side a bit blurry at day light. SOOOOO..... 🧵

I don't wanna sound like a big nerd but just to add on, crowley can actually see very well at night. in the book it says he didn't have lights on when he hit anathema because he doesn't need them to see at night, "they just make other humans feel safer". 😎

in the thread i do say that i think he sees better at night, that's correct! I used this clip because Crowley didn't just run into her, she came of a perpendicular road to Crowley's, and said road was covered in bushing from Crowley's perspective ndskjnf he couldn't have seen it
