This is what didn’t happen after 1/6. Sure, some rank and file truly despicable individuals were prosecuted, but the man at the top, the funders, the organizers were not. The GOP Senators refused to convict Trump for his Ukraine extortion and that set the whole thing up.

That is the part people miss. Democracy does not bounce back just because the bad guys lose an election. There has to be accountability, or the same crowd learns they can break the rules and try again later.

If Biden/Garland had fought trump crimes&upheld Constitutional Law&Order,we wouldn’t be on the brink of collapse.Without Justice,democracy crumbles.

we MUST recover the stolen funds- the pardons must be reversed- the restitution reinstated- the awful tax policy rescinded ALL has to happen AND harsh penalty laden laws passed to stop this from happening again!!!

Campaigning on prosecuting past corruption works elsewhere, but it's a dead end in the US. Trump is writing the most insane presidential pardons for every loyal criminal in his ranks, and the Supreme Court gave him an absolute, unchallengeable pen to do it. A bulletproof shield.

The thing is, DOJ independent counsel tried to prosecute Trump for Jan 6 and defrauding the gov't. But the American people in their infinite wisdom reelected him instead. It's tough to see how we get a functioning republic back when everyone is happy to elect an authoiratarian.

We need accountability to move on as a democracy! However, I think we may need to redefine our legal scope to accomplish this--a special commission needs to take charge and find a legal method to rescind the pardons, and claw back the money that the Trump mafia stole from us.
