The cost of retaining that dwelling would have easily paid for its actual demolition. Safety reports, engineers reports, party wall reports, party wall strengthening. It's ridiculous. But they are complaining about costs of the scheme. Inapt engineers / advisors.

That would work for pyrite where you can repair the building but you can't when it's Pyrrhotite because it's much worse. We don't even have foundations included in the scheme. Imagine all this moisture today getting into the foundations and reacting with the pyrrhotite

This is such a stupid way of doing this. What’s their problem? Are they intentionally making it harder to prevent other people being part of the scheme? Or is it some optics and accounting from their side?

Seems to me it's the "permanent government" and their begrudging, bunker "under seige" mentality that is at fault here. Gombeen me who never had to do a jobe in their life now faced with something they can't out source to a charity or consultant.
