In 2021, they lost to the 49ers (10–7), Packers (13–4), Bengals (10–7), Rams (12–5), and the Packers again. Every one of those teams finished near the top of their divisions. uhh right but Ben Johnson wasn’t calling his plays until 2022 and in 2021 when Goff joined the lions, they went 3-13-1. the lions were still one of the worst teams in football and that is not Goff’s fault lol context matters + this stat is stupid / misleading

So when he was a rookie and went 0-7 his first 7 games and his first year with the Lions when they were in a complete rebuild, had no weapons, went 3-14 and were an awful team?

That 3-18-1 stat is brutal, but Goff just posted career highs across the board in 2024 (4,629 yards, 37 TDs). Numbers tell the real story - system fit matters more than raw talent in this league.
