Dear Reno, It’s great that your garden is doing well congrats on that. But let’s be clear: planting tomatoes in your backyard doesn’t cancel the government’s obligation to feed its people systematically not symbolically. You’re preaching self-reliance like it’s a new religion, but you’re ignoring the social contract. Citizens don’t owe government loyalty in exchange for vibes and motivational speeches. We pay taxes. We obey laws. In return, government owes us food security, infrastructure, healthcare, quality education, and yes a working economy that doesn’t force people to rely on cassava farms just to survive. It is not laziness to demand good governance. It is a right. A nation isn’t measured by how many people learn to grow tomatoes out of desperation, but by how many don’t have to. Your narrative is dangerous because it shifts the blame from the government’s incompetence to the people’s stomach. Instead of holding leaders accountable for the inflation, joblessness, insecurity, and collapsing systems, you’re busy turning hunger into a personal development challenge. That’s not wisdom that’s gaslighting. Nigeria doesn’t need more motivational speakers. It needs working systems. And it’s not “entitlement” to expect the government to do its job. That’s democracy, not dependency. And let’s be honest your refusal to call out failed leadership while distracting people with gardening tips isn’t noble. It’s cowardice.

Started potted planting mid last year, never feel so good. Got 36 fruit as first harvest from one pepper plant. Third frame is cucumber plant just 2 weeks in. It takes 1-2 month from planting to harvesting. A single plant can give 10-18 cucumber per harvest. Can't wait!
