Three years ago, South Africa had committed to plant 10 million trees in 5 years as part of global efforts to combat carbon emissions. The City of Tshwane’s share of that commitment was 300,000 trees in 5 years. We are running out of time so I’ve set the target for Tshwane at 30,000 trees by December 2025. Ive seen the slaughter of the automaton war machine. Super Earth is in danger, and its up to the brave souls of the #HellDivers2 community to push them back for democracy. However.... not all of our brothers and sisters are in the fight. This is a call to arms, Arrowhead Game Studios . A request on behalf of my former comrades before I left #xbox for PC. So I have a big announcement. I thought they were going to wait until the more formal announcement, but two weeks ago they let the cat out of the bag:) I have just been appointed Creative-in-Residence at the London School of Economics. The kind of unexpected news that blows your mind. Many years ago I made a decision that changed my life: Focus on the work, never hustle, and let the universe do the rest. After Yale and Oxford and all of that, I decided I would no longer apply for any fellowships or residencies. I wanted only to be invited - based on the impact of our work. I was almost certain it would take about 10 years for any of that to happen (I mean, who do you think you are?) and I was comfortable with that consequence. I would focus on the work I had chosen. And then, in the midst of inevitable doubt, the universe always sends a big message of affirmation. I am honoured and thankful. I look forward to collaborating with the school’s faculty, students and networks to accelerate the growth of the creative economy across Africa. The work continues❤️

Yesterday, 50 years ago, I was forced to leave everything I had ever known behind. In the dark haze of the morning, my family and I fled as everything around us crumbled. Saigon had fallen, and so had the lives my family had built for us. Fortunate to be embraced by American kindness and opportunity, I earned my place as an American and Texan. Ever since arriving in this great state so many years ago, I never took for granted this blessing of freedom, opportunity, and compassion. From my first job in the United States as a busboy to being a member of the greatest state legislature in the nation, I serve, I speak, I fight for freedom and opportunity because it is never guaranteed. I commit to the values of this state and nation for my family, for my lost land, for my children and yours, and to always be that light in the darkness that is communism. #txlege
