The Charlie Kirk Vigil at Boston Common last night brought together so many patriots, united in prayer, strength, and determination for change. Thank you to every single person who showed up. You reminded us that we are not alone. One of the most inspiring parts of the night was hearing from the young speakers who talked about the impact Charlie had on their lives and why they feel called to get involved. Their words were powerful and showed that the next generation is ready to carry this mission forward. But this is just the beginning. We need to take that same energy back to our towns, our schools, and our communities. Get involved, speak up, and be part of the movement for a better Massachusetts. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the reasons for refusing to sign a trade agreement with the United States, which has resulted in a significant portion of Canadian exports now being subject to 50% tariffs in the US: We were unhappy with what was being offered to us, and how sustainable those offers were. We don't want to achieve short-term gains that will then be reversed in a few months or a year. That would be unfair to our workers, our companies, and our communities.

In particular, energy issues – we can implement a lot together, especially on LNG. Europe’s dependence on Russian energy resources is decreasing, and it is important that partners have alternatives. Rumen spoke about his diplomatic contacts and what Bulgaria is doing for security in the Black Sea. We agreed that our teams will stay in touch. I invited Mr. Prime Minister to Ukraine. Thank you.

Today, as my country marks its 54th National Day Eid Al Etihad the streets of the UAE glow with flags, songs, and cars covered in the face of our leader, Mohammed bin Zayed. And you know what’s funny? Those who hate their own governments look at us… and assume we must be like them. They wish we were angry. They wish we wanted elections. They wish we hated our president. But wishes don’t turn into reality just because your own countries are drowning in chaos. Here’s the truth: The UAE stands united people, leadership, and vision. Unity is not a slogan here; it’s a lived reality. Our president doesn’t divide us… he defines us. And if you think the civilians of the UAE want to “change” their leader, then it’s only in your dreams the same dreams where you imagine the Muslim Brotherhood returning to power, or extremists rewriting history. The world can see it with their own eyes: A country built on trust, respect, and leadership that serves its people not rules them with fear. So celebrate if you love us, and envy us if you must but nothing you say will ever shake the bond between the UAE and its people. I met with Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi. I was pleased to welcome the Minister to Ukraine’s annual meeting of ambassadors. His presence reflects the fact that Ukraine and Moldova share many foreign policy priorities, particularly in the areas of security and European aspirations. It is important that we continue moving forward together across the full range of our shared objectives. We also discussed a number of practical projects that can and should be implemented, including in infrastructure and energy. For us, these are first and foremost matters of security and mutual assistance. I am grateful to Moldova for its consistent support for our people and our defense.

I informed about our conversation yesterday with President Trump, our work with leaders of the Coalition of the Willing to advance peace and ensure Ukraine’s security, and the security architecture for Europe. And Slovakia will not stand aside. The Prime Minister told me about his contacts in China. A separate and important topic was Europe’s energy independence — Russian oil, just as Russian gas, has no future. Slovakia supports Ukraine on its path toward the European Union. This is highly significant. We also share the view that Ukraine and Moldova must continue moving together toward EU membership. Equally important is that bilateral cooperation on economic, energy, and infrastructure matters here, in our region, strengthens our peoples and our countries. Thank you for the meeting. It is important that we have this dialogue, and we will continue it.

We discussed cooperation across various areas and holding a government meeting in the format of an intergovernmental commission in the near future. We spoke about exchanging visits to Kyiv and Bratislava and agreed that our teams will work out the schedule. We also addressed Ukraine’s EU membership. Importantly, Slovakia supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and is ready to assist us on this path. I am grateful for that.
