The Active Protection System (APS) of France's future CAPINT main battle tank is capable of countering Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) rounds! 🛡️💥 During an interview with Military Machine Fr, a KNDS expert explained: "To counter the number one enemy of modern tanks—the APFSDS (kinetic energy penetrator/dart projectile)—which flies at incredible speeds up to 1,700 m/s, leaving less than a second of reaction time if fired from 2 km away, we integrated a brand-new defense technology in the black area above the front hull. It launches interceptor projectiles to directly impact and disrupt the incoming long-rod penetrator. This impact instantly alters the projectile’s flight attitude, forcing it to tilt, which drastically reduces its penetration capability. It can even snap or shatter it mid-air, ensuring the fragments strike the hull without causing any catastrophic internal behind-armor damage. It acts like an airborne protective barrier colliding with the penetrator." Sounds remarkably similar to Ukraine's "Zaslon" (Barrier) Active Protection System.

Video on attempts to develop an anti-drone Active Protection System (APS) in the Russian Armed Forces. The APS architecture with a stationary defeat system and the chosen off-the-shelf solutions, such as canister charges for "Tucha," in my opinion, will not ensure success in this endeavor. The idea of manually firing canister rounds is not even worth considering against FPV drones, no matter how many cameras are installed. Moreover, even if FPV drones could miraculously be shot down, this offers zero help against "Baba Yaga" drones. On the other hand, building an APS on a fast, stabilized rotating platform with a rational defeat system is not feasible due to the lack of commercially available solutions for such a platform, which must also withstand significant repeated recoil. Meanwhile, private entities or the military have access to existing software and hardware solutions for drone detection systems, which design bureaus will never use, as they prefer to start from scratch with 10-year R&D projects to maximize profits.

The recent war in southern Lebanon has proven the weaknesses of the Trophy active protection system (APS) installed on the armored vehicles and tanks of the IDF. This footage released by the Hezbollah terrorist organization clearly shows how one of their FPV drones hit a Merkava Mk4 main battle tank of the IDF exactly next to its APS, and you can see that Trophy did not activate to prevent the drone from hitting it. This is not the only Merkava that has been hit during this recent war. We have seen several other cases, whether released by the Hezbollah terrorist organization or others.

As part of "upgrading readiness for future threats," the Defense Ministry says it successfully completed a series of "complex" tests with the David's Sling medium-range air defense system. David's Sling, produced by defense firm Rafael, is designed to intercept rockets, missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, and UAVs. The ministry says the series of tests was based on "operational lessons" learned from the war, and included a "range of challenging scenarios in line with existing and evolving threats." "The success of the tests constitutes an additional technological and operational breakthrough in upgrading the system, which demonstrated high performance capabilities during the war with successful interceptions that saved lives and prevented significant damage," it says. David’s Sling, operational since 2017, forms the middle tier of Israel’s multi-layer air defense capabilities, which also include the short-range Iron Beam and Iron Dome, and a top-tier of Arrow systems, the latter of which are intended to engage long-range ballistic missiles.

⚡🇺🇸: M1 ABRAMS: WHY IT IS STILL CALLED THE “KING OF ALL TANKS” The M1 Abrams is not just a tank, it is a continuously evolving battlefield system that has defined modern armored warfare for decades. The latest variant, M1A2 SEPv3, represents one of the most advanced main battle tanks ever fielded. It combines a deadly 120mm smoothbore gun with upgraded digital fire control, improved armor protection, and advanced networking that connects it to the wider battlefield in real time. Its survival advantage is built on layered composite armor and upgraded defensive systems designed to counter modern anti tank missiles, loitering munitions, and top attack threats. Unlike many competitors, the Abrams prioritizes crew survivability with a heavily protected internal layout and ammunition storage design. Mobility is another key factor. Powered by a gas turbine engine, the Abrams delivers exceptional acceleration and battlefield responsiveness, allowing it to reposition faster than most heavy tanks despite its weight class. Against rivals like the T 90M, Type 99A, or Leopard 2A7, the Abrams stands out in three core areas: combat proven reliability, continuous upgrade cycles, and integrated digital warfare capability. It has also been tested in real combat across multiple wars, constantly refined based on battlefield experience rather than theory. The upcoming SEPv4 upgrade is expected to push it further with enhanced sensors, better target detection, and improved threat tracking systems, keeping it relevant in the era of drone saturated warfare. This is why the Abrams is still called the “King of Tanks” Not because it is the newest But because it never stopped evolving.

🚨🇷🇺 NATO IN PANIC: RUSSIA’S T-80BVM TANK GETS NEW ARMOR FOR DRONE WAR A previously unseen T-80BVM configuration has appeared with a tighter roof screen and expanded side protection. Russian engineers are turning lessons from frontline crews into a more coherent armor package built around the threats tanks actually face in Ukraine. 🔸 The lower anti-drone screen sits closer to the turret and covers more of its upper surface than many early field-built cages. It is designed to trigger FPV warheads away from the thin roof and disrupt clean top-down attacks. 🔸 Additional Relikt explosive reactive armor and side screens strengthen the hull flanks, fuel-tank areas and engine compartment against shaped-charge weapons — the sections drone operators repeatedly try to reach. 🔸 The upgrades preserve the T-80BVM’s main advantage: mobility. Its 1,250 hp gas-turbine engine can push the tank to around 70 km/h, allowing crews to fire, relocate and avoid remaining exposed in one position. 🔸 The tank retains its 125 mm gun, modern fire-control system and ability to launch guided missiles through the barrel, giving it the firepower to engage armor and fortified positions from range. 🔸 Uralvagonzavod says recent T-80BVM batches incorporate combat experience and direct feedback from the front, with the main emphasis placed on crew safety and overall survivability. 🔸 Russia has also increased production of the T-80BVM, T-90M and T-72B3M severalfold. New batches continue to reach the troops as anti-drone protection becomes a standard part of the upgrade process. The T-80BVM keeps its turbine-powered speed while adding protection where FPV crews look first: the turret roof, hull sides and engine deck. Every clean attack angle is becoming harder to find. Which matters most for tank survival now: roof armor, electronic warfare or speed?

It is equipped with two 30mm cannons, guided anti-tank missiles, machine guns, and automatic grenade launchers, allowing it to strike a wide variety of targets simultaneously. In the area of special military operations, it has demonstrated a high level of efficiency not only in supporting tanks, but also as an independent assault vehicle, destroying enemy fortified and firing points. In fact, the Terminators have proven that in certain situations they can replace a mechanized infantry division, which typically includes the BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicle, among other things. Like the Solntsepiok heavy flamethrower system, the Terminator has no analogues in the world.

‼️‼️🇺🇲 BIG | The USA for the first time shot down a fiber-optic drone The American company Epirus reported a significant breakthrough in the field of countering drones. Its microwave system "Leonidas" for the first time hit a drone with fiber-optic control - one of the most difficult targets for modern electronic warfare means. Previously, the complex had already hit a swarm of 49 drones, but the new test was particularly significant. In December 2025, at a closed test range of the US Army, the system was able to disable a fiber-optic UAV, depriving it of control and causing an uncontrolled fall. Fiber-optic drones, which are widely used today, including in the Ukrainian theater of operations, do not use radio control channels. The signal is transmitted via a thin fiber-optic cable, which makes such drones extremely difficult to detect and suppress. In a report by the US Army in 2024, such drones were called "one of the main threats to air defense systems and anti-drone warfare". The CEO of Epirus noted that the mass spread of fiber-optic UAVs has become a turning point in the evolution of unmanned warfare and has revealed a serious gap in anti-drone defense systems - a gap that "Leonidas" is designed to close. In 2025, Epirus received a contract for $43.5 million for the supply of two second-generation "Leonidas" systems. Its range of destruction is more than twice that of the first version; a 30% increase in power; there are built-in high-energy batteries; a reduction in dependence on external power supply. The system can be installed on: Stryker 8×8 armored vehicles, light tactical vehicles, other mobile platforms. See the latest updates with us: Visioner
