In Skyfall, Daniel Craig insisted on sliding down the escalator rail himself in that iconic subway chase. The stunt team first set up cables with a brake system, but after a few rigged runs, Craig ditched the safety gear entirely and nailed the slide completely unaided.

From BTS to screen: Daniel Craig and Naomie Harris discuss the chase sequence in SKYFALL where Bond and Eve pursue Patrice (Ola Rapace) through Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. “Having a car chase in a street with nothing in it is boring”, said special effects supervisor Chris Corbould. “But as soon as you have a background for the chase it comes to life. Istanbul has a real character to it.”

Daniel Craig insisted on wearing gloves for a sequence in Skyfall, forgetting his gun required a fingerprint scan. This error was caught in post-production. VFX artists had to digitally paint bare hands over his gloves frame by frame to save the shot.

Why the 737 landing gear lever has an “OFF” position ✈️ It’s a question I get asked quite often and understandably so! “OFF” isn’t a logical position for the landing gear! The landing gear is retracted into the belly of the aircraft using hydraulic pressure. Once the gear is fully up, mechanical uplocks hold the gear safely in position. However, with the lever in the UP position, hydraulic pressure is still being applied to the system. This is unnecessary now that the gear is being held up with mechanical latches and places extra demand in the hydraulic pumps. So, once the gear has been retracted, the pilots will move the gear lever from UP to OFF as part of the after takeoff checklist. This simply removes hydraulic pressure from the retract lines. When the pilots configure the aircraft for landing, we move the landing gear lever from OFF to DOWN. This action releases the mechanical up locks and the gear is lowered using a combination of hydraulic pressure, gravity and air loads. Once the gear is fully down and locked, a green light - one for each set of wheels, will illuminate. Should the primary gear down sensors fail, we have a second set of green, gear down indicators on the overhead panel. As long as the gear is indicating down and locked on either the primary or standby indicator, the gear is down and locked and safe to land on 👍 In the very unlikely event that the gear won’t lower normally using the landing gear lever, we have a standby gear lowering system which allows the crew to manually release the gear uplocks and allow gravity to lower the gear - see my reel showing that system in operation . In No Time to Die (2021), for the motorcycle stunt Daniel Craig came up with the idea of pouring 8,400 gallons of Coca-Cola on Italian street to make it less slippery. It cost nearly €60,000 and left a sticky residue once dried.

A British man named Craig Barratt was jailed in Qatar for a Tripadvisor comment on his stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Doha His wife was sexually harassed at the hotel pool & threatened with rape by 2 local men while Craig was away on a work trip to Riyadh. After notifying the management about what happened, Craig was told that the men had checked out and weren’t a threat anymore. It turned out to be a lie and his wife spotted the men staying at the hotel again. She and Craig immediately checked out and Craig then wrote a Tripadvisor comment warning that hotel staff were covering for sexual predators: Instead of reviewers their security protocols, the Ritz-Carlton filed a criminal complaint of defamation against Craig to the Qatari police. The British man soon found himself in a dirty jail cell. As a Westerner, never travel to Qatar with female family members or friends…

Casino Royale (2006) redefined Bond with grit and emotion. Daniel Craig did most of his own stunts, including the brutal parkour chase, setting a new standard for realism and giving the character real vulnerability for the first time.

After a full landing gear replacement, one key check is a gear swing. That means cycling the gear up and down on jacks to verify rigging, clearances, indications, and system performance before the aircraft goes back into service. On a big jet like the A330, it’s a serious operation. The “butter machine” reputation doesn’t come by accident. Reliable landings depend on properly serviced and rigged gear. Typically, landing gear is removed for overhaul around the 10-year mark, depending on cycles and program requirements. With only_fancowl , check out him for more ✈️

Clint Eastwood insisted on doing the ledge-hang stunt himself for In the Line of Fire (33 today). The crew built a rooftop-edge replica on a backlot, then hid a heavy safety harness and a steel cable under his jacket. It’s really his face in the frame, so the danger feels real

Road rage gets completely out of hand after a driver brake checks another car. The driver and his friend jump out to chase the guy down, and a few seconds later their pit bull comes running after them in the middle of the freeway. They all get back in the car and keep chasing him like nothing happened. Some people should not be behind the wheel.
