FAO describes “duck banks” in Ben Tre, Vietnam Farmers borrow 25 ducklings per 1,000 m² of rice field, then repay the loan after a rice season so the fund can support the next farmers

Ducks are snail eating machines… But snails are algae eating machines. It’s really hard to design an ecosystem that runs on its own, I’ve been trying for a while and it’s punctuated with Armageddons that cause a start over once or twice a year.

it looks like a load of duck going to war going over the top

And fertilizers

That's a great idea.

Ducks doing pest control for free, paid entirely in bugs and free lunch 🦆

Vietnam's Mekong Delta has its own version: vịt chạy đồng, "field-running ducks". Herders move their flocks from paddy to paddy, and the ducks eat fallen grain plus golden apple snails, a pest that eats young rice.

Ducks really got hired as tiny farm employees and immediately became better at pest control than half of us are at our actual jobs.

For the Horde.

Has the U.S. tried this?

Perfect. Mine look like a herd of cattle going through an alfalfa field.

Finally, a workforce that doesn’t ask for salaries, coffee breaks, or weekends. 😂
