There's an easily missed moment in Chrono Trigger that is not often mentioned. Upon the first visit to Guardia Castle in 600 AD, speak with the chancellor & proceed to follow him upstairs, then enter the King's bedroom & talk to him again through the wall. Crono will overhear the Chancellor surprised that Queen Leene (Marle) returned to the castle. This is of course a hint that the Chancellor is not what he seems & after this he'll no longer be found in the castle. It's a small scene & the player can easily proceed to the cathedral to fight Yakra without ever seeing it, but it's little touches such as this which demonstrate the attention to detail the developers put in to make the world feel truly lived in.

He's the biologist Sandman forces to cure his sick daughter, which is why he was stealing money in the first place In the deleted scene, Sandman comes out of an air vent in Wallace's lab, confronts him, and slams him against the glass wall demanding a cure. Without him, Sandman's entire motivation makes a lot less sense in the final film. Sam Raimi personally called Adrian Lester to apologize for cutting him, the movie was running over 3 hours.
