This is so obviously not what would happen when a suspect turns and points a gun at a PO

It was a very poor written show

Nothing, 100% good shot. And the cop has no right to pronounce death. The female cop should have still rendered aid, not blabber nonsense on the radio.

It felt like she had been waiting for that moment...

They want him to use a taser when he was about to get shot with a pistol

Police are not medical personnel; they don't declare ToD. They would absolutely roll an ambulance, lest they be accused of intentionally letting a suspect bleed out. An armed suspect drawing on you is a justified shoot all day, every day, even in California. The idea that a cop wouldn't lawyer up immediately even if accused of something is absurd.

The Rookie is such a stupid show, almost everything they do is over exaggerated and so dumb. In this instance you wouldn't cancel the ambulance, how are you going to move the body? And it's not a homicide, that would have to be proven in court.

This show has always been woke trash, written by completely ignorant writers with zero knowledge of gun laws or police procedures. They fabricate everything they do to push a woke agenda. I despise this garbage.

How can she pronounce him dead? She isn't a medical professional!

This scene deadass made me stop watching, because it felt so painfully performative that it pisses me off. Not that I'm not anti cop, don't get me wrong, but it was just such a shitty and poorly written "no no look, we take cop shootings super serious" thing.

Cops don't get to call time of death, that's the EMTs or the ME. Knew a Chicago cop who did that for a DB on the radio and got chewed out for it since only the EMTs had the authority to announce death. (the DB in that case had been decapitated)

wow fucking retarded shows man dude pulls a gun out and points it at him there is only one i repeat only one choice to take and thats puttin him down, the cop did the right thing if he hadnt he would be the one dead

That is clearly an airsoft gun. At least cut down the inner barrel.

Just lol. Real cops would magdump their entire duty belt worth then say “freeze”. and be justified 100%

What a crock of shit. The blue line protects its own. He would never sit in interrogation with his commander and their lawyers behind him. Nolan would have had his lawyers and union reps sitting with him. He and Talia would have had their stories straight, cops calling TOD? WTF

Cops can't pronounce people dead. Also it's not "less than lethal" it's "less lethal". A taser still runs the possibility of killing a person, it's just less likely too.

Nothing. Open and shut Self Defense, IRL there wouldn't even be an investigation, lmao.

1) it’s obvious that Nolan is using a BB gun. 2) The scenario is BS. The suspect had a gun pointed at him. There is no “less lethal option” when staring down the barrel. Of course this is CA and laws there are ridiculous but I still think this is silly

He needs to do more dry fire training, because the way his gun twitched to the left before his trigger pulled indicates he is anticipating the shot. Dry firing with a quarter on the top will help eliminate that.

Whoever wrote this is a complete idiot. Only medical personnel can declare an individual is dead and time of death. Also don't point guns at police if you don't want to take a nice long dirt nap.

I hate how this show would used to go out of their way to make Nolan look bad, when it was bad enough every episode revolved around his age, but then make up the dumbest scenarios to make him look like a bad cop.

Not sure about the AI voiceover, but almost NONE of this is how it would have gone down in real life, except the first 5 seconds and maybe the last 5 seconds. The producers should be ashamed at this farce.

That police officer was completely within his rights to shoot, why was this even a possible homicide?

Hollywood bs. A gun was pointed at him, if he had the less than lethal at the ready he’d be the dead one. No homocide charge coming his way.
