This looks like a great way to frolic

Billy indeed I do see frolic.

We are still here. Not AI. Btw... it's much more difficult than snow skiing.

he sustained major injuries

Later that night at the summer ski lodge…

Yep Still have mine but wouldn't dare nowadays.

This might be what did it in

Who needs knee cartilage?

Legend goes he tore both ACL’s on this trick, did three gunners and walked it off

A orthopedic surgeon with a declining private practice made this ad

Hardest part of summer skiing? Telling your dad you’re gay.

This is the most 80s shit I've ever seen 😂

snow is a little more forgiving than dirt and stone.

I remember, and it was true I grew up in Tahoe, and we were skaters in the early 80’s, and we wanted to skate in the winter. We took the bindings off our water skis, and screwed them to a skateboard deck. Climbed up hills and …….skate “snow” boarded down them. Now, “snowboarding” is the most popular Olympic sport. Pic is from Poulsons Gulley, Squaw Valley 1984. The first year we started getting actual boards made for snow.

😂 Nice recovery. 😅

they change clothes like 4 times

It was a long day. And fashion was a thing for these folk.

🤣

"Skiing"

You can see the very moment both his ACLs snap.

The sport was originally called "Don't Die" but they had to rebrand because everyone who tried it, died.

Dude in the red pants almost ate shit right into that log

@grok confirm that the main reason summer skiing failed to gain traction was the fact that the ground is very hard when it isn’t covered by snow.

Sus.

@2Ball_ Died out sadly

@nomnomdayy Yeah —the 80th were wild 😜

Orthopaedic surgeons love this one simple trick.

Cause everyone wants a compound fracture

I lived through the 80’s, no one thought this.

In Copenhagen you can try this all year round, but be careful, you won't get bruises if you fall on your ass, you'll get a burn mark. 😅

This guy’s summer skiing career ended that day…

Let me guess, since rocks and dirt aren't as soft as snow, people kept dying and the company went bankrupt.

They really trying this through some random forest? One wrong move and you break half your bones.

after that commercial, six knee replacement surgeries ...

On one hand; that's deadly AF. You'd break something within 2 days on doing this. On the other hand; we had it all bro....

This looks like a clip out of Napoleon Dynamite.

Did that bald guy fly off that cliff and die? What happened to him? The sun just swallowed him. He’s dead isn’t he?
