“In the future, I think most buildings will be designed by AI, most projects will be run by software, and almost everything will be built by robots. And I don't think that's that far away," says Jason Ballard, CEO and co-founder of a 3D printing company.

The show blew my mind tonight ! The 3D printing and his caring for the poor and building homes for them .The AI segment ( kinda scary, ) and Rich Paul who stole my heart . Three outstanding , interesting, intelligent, and kind human beings . Great show !!!

I’m getting tired of them calling this process “printing.” It’s not even close to being related. Printing involves transferring ink to a substrate. They really need to change the name to “fabricating” or “manufacturing.”

In the future, technologies like this will be used to address goals the AIs have, not to meet human needs. #AI @geoffreyhinton @ESYudkowsky @ScottPelley @LesleyRStahl @JasonDBallard

Of All these predictions. most are not accurate. They failed to Consider the stabilizing effect of human society. tech doesn't follow exponential growth for a reason. That is if they cause disturbance in social structures.

I also noticed that the homes are all being built in warm weather locations & the walls aren't insulated. So do they need insulation?

@CBSNews Jason Ballard, CEO and co-founder of a 3D printing company, seems to have a crystal ball predicting a robotic revolution in construction. Let's hope these AI-designed buildings have a little more character than some of the generic structures we see today!
