On October 7, 2023, Sagui Dekel-Chen was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. He was held hostage by Hamas for 498 days, separated from his wife and three daughters, the youngest of whom was born while he was in captivity. He didn’t even know if they had survived the massacre until three days before his release. While in Hamas captivity, he composed songs in his head, memorizing the lyrics and imagining the music. Two nights after his release from Gaza, while still in the hospital, he quietly recorded the songs on his phone. Those songs became an album called "Minus One," named for the level of the underground terror tunnel where he was held hostage. On Monday night, he performed his songs publicly for the first time, in front of 3,000 people in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Proportionally, Nir Oz was the hardest-hit community during the October 7 massacre. Of the town's 400 residents, 47 were killed, and 76 were taken hostage. Just six of 220 homes were left undamaged. Nearly three years later, many residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz still haven’t returned home.

♰ The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church ♰ I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. Wasn’t a fan of Martinez at the back end of the his time but I do believe looking back he wasn’t backed in terms of the players he wanted to what he got in the end. Also great to hear how he respects the club and fans still to this day when he doesn’t have to👏🏻

We've all missed the mark. The bullseye. And we try to get to God by our efforts. But there is no effort that will bring us back into the presence of the of a righteous God. You see, the wages of sin is death. Charlie knew this, and at an early age he entrust his life to the Savior of the world. Jesus came to this earth, was tempted in all ways, yet was without sin, was crucified upon a cross. His blood was poured out because blood must be shed for the remission of sins, and his death upon that cross was sufficient for all the world sins, but only efficient for those who, like Charlie, would receive him as their Savior. Jesus has come to seek and say that which is lost. And I would say this to all of you. The Lord loves you. He wants to save you. He wants to give you a new life. He wants to cover the multitude of your sins by the blood he shed upon the cross. The Bible says, 'If you believe in your heart, you confess with your tongue that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved,' to the glory of the Father.”
