In the Original Dub. Her voice changes each time as it pretends to be herself to torment her more. Asuka went through HELL and back

chaaaaaaance..

They replicate this in the Netflix dub too! Each time, one of the other voice actors for other prominent female characters voices her! It was very cool.

Episode 22 is the most horrifying thing I’ve ever watched but at the same time, it’s also the most heartbreaking thing i've ever watched

When I first saw the Japanese Version, I thought that it was the Main Cast’s VAs doing an impression of Asuka to show that how Asuka presents herself / how people perceive her doesn’t match up with her “true self”.

They dubbed this properly in the Netflix version - I'm assuming the ADV one struggled to get all the voice actors in since it was a Director's Cut addition.

why is she being tormented by herself what happened 😭

The Angel she was battling got inside her mind

This is why the original dub was the best

In spanish dub too

I love Asuka I really do ❤️ ....... but after reading HP Lovecraft and learning about cosmic horror Arael became my favorite angel, and I knew afterwards this could have been so much worse for her...

She deserved better than what happened to her.

the music in the background during this scene while these scenes kept looping in her head always creeped me tf out

One of the best scenes in anime ever!

why english/US dub are always catastrophic? in french our dub are not very good, but it's far from being as bad as the english/US dubs

I’ve heard the other VAs are those that auditioned for Asuka’s role but didn’t get the part. I’m not sure, though.
