In this famous 1999 interview, David Bowie called the internet an “alien lifeform” with “unimaginable” potential. Two years earlier, he was the first artist to securitize future song royalties and sold $30m+ of “Bowie Bonds.” He launched a social network (BowieNet) with funds from that transaction and has an...

Elon Musk on building his first startup Zip2 In 1995, when he was just 23 years old, Elon dropped out of Stanford’s PhD program in physics to start Zip2 with his brother Kimbal Musk. Elon personally wrote the first national maps, directions, yellow pages and white pages on the Internet that summer in C with a little C++. In this CBS interview, a 27 year old Elon describes living in a $200/month office with a leaky roof: “We found that an office was actually cheaper than apartment in Silicon Valley and we got this dinky little office that had a leaky roof. It was just the nastiest place you could imagine. I lived in it too and showered at the YMCA. This lasted for about three or four months, and the reason we chose this office — in addition to it being really cheap — was that there was an internet service provider on the floor below. So we were able to get really cheap internet access by drilling a hole in the floor and connecting to their server directly.” In February 1999 — less than a year after this interview — Compaq would purchase Zip2 for $307 million in cash. The interviewer also asks Elon what he thinks the future of the Internet will be, to which Elon responds: “I think the internet is the superset of all media. It is the be all and end all of media. One will see print, broadcast, radio — essentially all media — folding into the internet. What the internet amounts to is it’s the first two-way communication medium that is intelligent. It allows consumers to choose what they want to see, when they want to see it.”

David Bowie performing 'Under Pressure' live at TopPop in 1996. Bowie was one of a kind musician with his humbleness and incredible works he produced over the years. Under Pressure was released as a single in 1981 and it was produced with the collaboration of Bowie and Queen. When you think of that year and this awesome collaboration, you can understand what kind of a masterpiece is this.

He says it was disrespectful, and if he happened to be cool with Drake, he should have the right to say yes or no. He was only sent the Future version of Like That.

BOWIE EXITS THE 70s IN THE UK WITH KENNY EVERETT “Can you hear me, Major Tom?” 45 years ago today, David Bowie’s re-recording of Space Oddity was broadcast on the Will Kenny Everett Make It To 1980? Show. You'll be familiar with this broadcast (Shot 18 September 1979 | Broadcast 31 December 1979), but this From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free edit bears repeating. The original footage was directed for the show by Bowie’s video director of the time, David Mallet, the action takes place in a high-ceilinged padded cell and an exploding kitchen with an unflappable nurse. Speaking to Angus MacKinnon in the NME in 1980, Bowie said: “That came about because (David) Mallet wanted me to do something for his show and he wanted Space Oddity. I agreed as long as I could do it again without all its trappings and do it strictly with three instruments. Having played it with just an acoustic guitar onstage early on, I was always surprised as how powerful it was just as a song, without all the strings and synthesizers. In fact the video side of it was secondary; I really wanted to do it as a three-piece song.” Both scenes were recreated for the May 1980 filming of Ashes To Ashes, the continuity experts among you will notice the very obvious differences. So, ten years after it was originally a hit, Major Tom also had the last word of the 70s for Bowie. Another 45 years on and the impact of this version is still as powerful. Read Nacho's notes with more detail regarding the recording of both the sound and vision, along with the complete video, here: Audio Source: David Bowie | Space Oddity | Recorded Good Earth Studios | Soho, London | September 1979 | Released as B side of Alabama Song | 15 February 1980 Vocals & 12-string guitar | David Bowie Bass | Zaine Griff Piano | Hans Zimmer Drums | Andy Duncan Producer | Tony Visconti FOOTNOTE: In the US Bowie appeared on Dick Clark's Salute to the Seventies TV broadcast. Bowie mimed to an edit of the 1969 Space Oddity recording. Stills from this show were utilised for the sleeve of the aforementioned Alabama Song 45. Sadly, a decent quality version of this broadcast has yet to surface. You can find it on YouTube, but hopefully Nacho will get his hands on a higher quality version to work his magic on. #SpaceOddity55 #SpaceOddityKennyEverett #NachoBowie #NachosVideos

Dominion voting machines in multiple states were indeed connected to the internet. Cybersecurity experts concluded this through the spiral graphs from the Dominion network itself, which showed a massive increase in web traffic on election day. There would be zero traffic if there was no internet involved with the machines. The CEO of Dominion later admitted that Dominion can be connected to the internet, even though he lied under oath and on national television prior, with the backing of the mainstream media who gaslit the public for years, telling you that the machines couldn't connect to the internet.

.Bari Weiss in her CBS Mornings debut, promoting her town hall tomorrow with Erika Kirk and taking aim at those who celebrated Charlie’s assassination and the conspiracy theorists claiming she had something to do it... “I think Erika Kirk is a victim of what could be a very, very disturbing version of America. In other words, her husband was speaking on a college campus. Whether you agreed with him or not, he was practicing the most fundamental of American rights, he was trying to persuade people with words and then he got a bullet to his neck as he was speaking to someone that disagreed with him. Someone, by the way, who was in the audience that night. In the days and weeks that followed, the number of people in this country and not just lunatics on the internet hiding behind anonymous accounts, but prominent people justified his death with the idea that words are violence rather than violence being violence signifies something quite alarming. The idea that he somehow had it coming because people disagreed with him.” “The second thing is that in — he was murdered three months ago. If you go on the internet and frankly it is leapt beyond the internet into real life and you talk to many seemingly sane people, they do not believe that the 22-year-old named Tyler Robinson that has been arrested and charged with his murder is the actual murderer. “They believe any number of theories. They believe Erika Kirk was his Mossad handler and he was killed by a foreign government. They believe she was tracked by Egyptian planes. They believe that the rings on her hand are signs of illuminati. The theories themselves are absurd. What matters is that because — she speaks about this in the interview, the brain rot that social media is allowing to spread, the way that it is detaching us from humanity, from our ability to talk to one another and our ability to discern the truth from just out and out lies is something that is incredibly important as a theme, I think. So, she was able to speak to both of those things in a way that’s incredibly compelling.”

David Bowie performing Ashes to Ashes, live on Later with Jools Holland, 1999. The song takes melodic inspiration from "Inchworm" by Danny Kaye, who was one of Bowie's earliest influences. Originating from the 1952 musical film Hans Christian Andersen, Bowie stated in 2003 that the song's chords were some of the first he learned on guitar, calling them "remarkable" and "melancholic": 'Ashes to Ashes' is influenced by that. It's childlike and melancholic in that children's story way.''

Marc Andreessen: Elon inspires incredible loyalty from his employees because they know he'll just sit all night with them to fix a problem. “Elon actually delegates almost everything. He's involved in the thing that is the biggest problem right now until that thing is fixed. And then, he doesn't have to be involved in it anymore, he can go focus on the next thing that's the biggest problem for that company right now. The job number one is to remove that bottleneck and get everything flowing again. I think Elon basically has universalized that concept and he basically looks at every company like it's some sort of conceptual assembly line. When he identifies the bottleneck, he goes and he talks to the line engineers who understand the technical nature of the bottleneck. If it's people on a manufacturing line, he's talking to people directly on the line. Or if that's people in a software development group, he's talking to the people actually writing the code. He's not asking the VP of Engineering to ask the Director of Engineering to ask the manager to ask the individual contributor to write a report that's to be reviewed in three weeks. He doesn't do that. He would throw them all out of the window. There's just no way he would do that. He goes and personally finds the engineer who actually has the knowledge about the thing, and then he sits in the room with that engineer and fixes the problem with them. This is why he inspires such incredible loyalty, especially from the technical people who he works with. They're like, wow, if I'm up against a problem I don't know how to solve, freaking Elon Musk is going to show up in his Gulfstream jet, and he's going to sit with me overnight in front of the keyboard or in front of the manufacturing line, and he's going to help me figure this out.” Interview of Marc Andreessen 🇺🇸 by Chris Williamson on Youtube, December 14, 2024
