🇯🇵 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited over 120 high school students from Africa to participate in exchanges with Japanese youth as part of a project to cultivate the next generation of "Japanophiles" who understand Japanese society. The "Africa Youth Program," which promotes mutual understanding between Japanese and African youth, is one of the youth exchange programs announced by the government at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) held last August, and was held for the first time this year. A total of 124 high school students from five countries -Cameroon, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, and Mozambique-visited Japan for 10 days from the end of June, participating in homestays in regional cities and company visits.

🇷🇺 Russia Launches First BRICS+ Youth Festival in Kazan to Foster International Dialogue The opening of Russia’s first BRICS+ Youth Festival took place in Kazan. The event has become a new platform for cultural and scientific exchange, where young people from different countries can engage directly in international dialogue. It has brought together 150 school students from 13 countries, including Brazil, China, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Belarus. The program of the international festival features both educational and creative events, such as an Olympiad in mathematics and informatics, a national costume showcase, and the international contest BRICSvision. Particular attention is devoted to political issues: on September 25, the young participants will discuss prospects for cooperation and the development of modern youth policy at a roundtable in Kazan’s city hall. Symbolic gestures will include the planting of the Friends of Peace alley and the opening of the BRICS Youth Library at Gymnasium No. 107. By being held in the capital of Tatarstan, the festival could become an important instrument of Russia’s soft power within BRICS. Experts note that such events cultivate among young people an appreciation for intercultural respect and the ability to conduct dialogue on an equal footing with peers from other countries. Today, Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi had a detailed and fruitful discussion with senior leaders and the party leadership of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. For Tamil Nadu, we had a collective meeting at the beginning and at the end, and in between, we had one-to-one meetings with individual leaders from Tamil Nadu. The leadership patiently listened to all opinions, and leaders were given full opportunity to express their views. The discussion was constructive and focused on strengthening the party and future strategy in Tamil Nadu. The meeting unanimously entrusted that Congress President and LoP will take the decisions. With regard to election strategy-related matters, the party high command will take appropriate decisions in due course. Keeping in mind the larger interests of the party ideology and the people of Tamil Nadu, the high command has issued a clear directive to all leaders to maintain discipline and refrain from making statements, including on social media, on these matters. Leaders have been advised to avoid speculation and speak in one voice, in line with the party decisions. We also discussed Puducherry-related election matters. From our side, the Foreign Secretary is attending the meeting this evening..." He further says, "We are in touch with Iran and other countries there to see how best we can get unimpeded transit and safe transit for our ships, which are carrying products including LPG, LNG and other products. Through this conversation that we have had over the last several days, we have had six Indian ships which have been able to safely cross the Strait of Hormuz, and we continue to be in touch with relevant parties."
