Who signed off on this storage plan if you have to "think outside the box" for emergency management? Why isn't there an established plan that's already been drilled by stakeholders at least quarterly?

These people on the frontlines are working tirelessly all day long 24/7 to protect us, mitigate damage and keep us safe. I cannot believe the audacity of those in the comments criticizing emergency responders. Who you should actually be more mad at is the aerospace 1/

For those who need it. Why haven’t these clowns announced in the news the location of the facility so people can stay away, along with an evacuation map showing where to stay away from. They just vaguely and irresponsibly say a leak at a facility in garden grove. For those who are actually concerned and want to protect themselves, here is the facility that is experiencing the issue, so you can safely steer clear along with the current evacuation perimeter. GKN Aerospace facility at 12122 Western Avenue in Garden Grove.

@KTLA The facility should have HAZMAT standard operation procedures for this kind of scenario. Did they not follow SOP or was there no SOP? Regardless of the answer, why?? That’s the question.

This is failure on so many levels! From company emergency preparedness to local rescue respond! No one actually has clue what to do ! How is this allowed to permitting company holding such products, without clear plan how to deal with emergency!

Chief I live 3 streets down from western. I did not evacuate, I have this nasty headache 🤕 who do I sue and how much should I seek?

So are we all good or what? I had to navigate around road closures coming back home Expectation: ...evacuation? Reality: some festival/fair thing, THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WANDERING AROUND IN THE STREETS WITH KIDS AND GIANT PLUSHIES

For people unfamiliar with the area, never had a problem with the fire department. They always show up fast and get stuff done. This incident isn't on them.

If there is lower risk of explosion and lower wind speed expected tonight, why not change the evacuation map to match current risk?

Chief Covey, I have 30+years of handling hazardous chemicals in the circuit board industry. Does this facility have or can they acquire from a supplier, a stainless steel air diaphragm pump?

I hope we get updates when the company is investigated also.

Isn't it his job to inspect these facilities often to determine if they are safely operating in proximity to residents?
