Jesus this is complicated. I remember in A3 wasteland you had the artillery tank and you could set a marker on the map that would show you distance and bearing. Then you just needed to do basic math to get the shells in the right place. You gotta do everything the real way here lol

Once you've used the map & protractor ruler a couple of times it becomes much easier than it looks to start with, honestly!

From a former mortarman, I recommend using the mil's on the outside of the protractor to make it slightly more accurate. Also ensure that the propellant charges are all set to the right amount. Fewer the rings, shorter the time of flight - if the distance matches up in the book
