The good thing with Linda Mwananchi is we are a youthful movement and we will always disagree and we are loud in how we express ourselves and deal with issues. I have personally had outbursts in this journey even here online. Thats the beauty of being young-We do not hide what we are feeling and we learn as we move. And am glad that we are now having real conversations around the direction that Linda Mwananchi will take- Either as a one party or under a coalition that clarity was very much needed. 47 Minutes of peace, then the world turned upside down. My personal story of Jane Orth, flight AA11 7:59am departure. 8:46am nightmare. Tuesday Sept 11, 2001: I drove her to Logan (Boston) airport. She was excited to see long lost distant family members & friends in NZ & Australia, via LA. Recently retired from Lucent Tech., she decided to use some funds for a trip of a lifetime - it was! She asked if I would help her board, we could back then. Got her seated and sorted. Showed her how to use the special phone. Then quietly letting the FA know she was nervous. I’d later learn that beautiful FA was named Betty Ong. The first to alert authorities. I disembarked, looking back & waving to her. Driving back to my nearby home, a Boston news radio alert announced an anomaly in NYC. I made no connection. Jane was flying to LA for a connecting flight. Entering the house, I’d left the TV on. Suddenly a shiver resulted from hearing ABC’s Dianne Sawyer (wearing a red dress) said “oh my god”! Charlie Gibson, repeated her words, as the second jet hit. I ran to the full frontal force of my TV. Horror was not my immediate response. It was shock. Hours later, the news trickled in. AA11 was the first jet hijacked. Her plane. Jane’s plane. I drove straight to her adult daughter, my friend. Their house phone was ringing off the hook. I called local PD and a police chaplain arrived. They closed the cul-de-sac entrance.
