Good thing it was not a DEI hired pilot! The captain was 46-year-old Scott Burke, with 10,829 total flight hours, 2,552 of which were on the Airbus A320.

The moment you realize DEI is a stupid idea. I don’t care what the pilots look like as long as they can do that.

It's moments like these where you want the best pilot, not the most diverse pilot.

@Villanu7Suzanne Giving God the Glory for that one. The pilot did a great job keeping the weight off the front, but it could have gone very wrong independent of skill. Divine providence.

@GinnyChildress6 That's about as close to a perfect landing as one could get in that situation, huh?

This is a good time to have a 60 year old retired fighter pilot named Dave in the cockpit, not a 20 something diversity hire trained on simulators.

That was amazing. Perfect timing dropping the nose so as to not put too much pressure and stress on that front landing gear too early so it reduce enough speed. Well done, everyone on that plane should be thankful, and the engineers need to look into the malfunction.

That's exactly why we need well qualified pilots.
