Arnie @Schwarzenegger, as much as I respect you, you are factually wrong here. Germany has shut down nuclear and replaced with wind and solar. Coalburn is down,gasconsumption is down. The new gas plants are back ups only.

Closing existing nuclear plants is anti environment Takes a massive amount of emissions to just rebuild a similar level of baseload power that is clean and most of the times that’s not even what occurs (they use coal in the interim)

@AdamPosen I don't disagree. Closing functional nuke plants early is not a great idea. But this is a short-term blip. Renewables are becoming so cheap so quickly that they're making nukes & fossil fuels uneconomic. Building new nukes huge cost, as they just did in Georgia, is the crazy path
