Incredibly powerful contribution by Dr Tom Clonan at the Oireachtas Committee this afternoon. Worth watching the full thing. We really should be ashamed of the way children are treated in this country. Especially those who are going through so much already. #HousingCrisis #scoliosis #Dail

@TomClonan @TomClonan's contribution really puts @LeoVaradkar's “the best country in Europe to be a child” comment into perspective. We have a government awash with money and yet it continues to run down our health service. #HowIrelandWorks

💪If you're seeing this, it must mean you support Trump. 👏 Let us help you show it. ✅ Classic, Tough, Real American Gear Here:

@TomClonan Clear, precise and taking no nonsense. That's 14mins of my life I will never forget. Thank you. Broke me when he stated it was because our kids are disabled 😢 #scoliosis #TomClonan

@TomClonan This is so shocking to me that I cannot understand why there aren’t huge demonstrations in the streets, We are looking at State sponsored criminal neglect of vulnerable children. It’s so embedded that those charged with their care don’t se it.

@TomClonan I agree with you totally, we really should all be on the streets defending these children.

@TomClonan nothing much has changed @TomClonan .... my parents had to send me out of the country in 1984 for scoliosis spinal surgery due to health cuts. I hope your son is doing well.

@TomClonan 💯 He is a great orator in v difficult circumstances, having endured his family engagement with the deplorable service that is Irish scoliosis treatment. Owen awaiting surgery over 6 yrs & compromised organs as a result. We have known about the delays for yrs & yet Irl ignored.

@TomClonan Listen. Watch how the well-positioned and extremely well paid bosses simply will not acknowledge FFG's failure to provide even half-decent health services to our crippled children. @TomClonan, I don't know how you maintain your dignity. I really don't.

@TomClonan 1. Foreseeable, 2. Preventable, 3. Reportable A very passionate and powerful contribution from @TomClonan

@TomClonan Great work from this Senator how did get through this questioning so difficult. Glad someone is there to represent children & families with disabilities 💔

@TomClonan I attended one of these committees, inquiring into the murder of my uncle Seamus Ludlow in 2006, and saw its recommendations shelved and ignored by successive governments for their own political reasons. If they can cover up murder, they can cover up anything.

@marlowsean @TomClonan I know there are time constraints but due to personal circumstances and genuine heartfelt questioning @SeanCroweTD should have made exceptions to @TomClonan and allow more time. Well done Tom 👏

@TomClonan I watched this with tears in my eyes. @TomClonan is an amazing advocate, especially at a time when other senators spread division in society. Children with disabilities should be top priority not bottom of the rung. We are a wealthy country and this should not be happening.

@TomClonan Why is there a Minister & Dept of Health AND a HSE AND a CHI? Who is in charge?

@TomClonan Sterling report Mr. Caul. Many thanks for your work. Without independent journalism we would know little or nothing.

Thanks very much!!

@TomClonan Thanks for sharing the full exchange.

@TomClonan Thank you, was worth sharing it all.

@TomClonan Well Done

@TomClonan We are lucky to have Tom. The other side of the table it seems you have yet another CEO with no idea whats going on in an organisation outside of a monthly meeting in which his management team lie & misreport & one explaining the process but not confirming 100% it was reported.

@TomClonan One of the few politicians or senators I respect. A good human.

@TomClonan I'm sorry to hear how much Tom's son suffered because of the failures of our healthcare system. As As someone with scoliosis myself, I can relate to a lot of what he said. I never even made it to the hospital; my GP dismissed my scoliosis as something cosmetic when I was a kid.

@TomClonan @TomClonan what a powerful and intelligent senator you are! Inform, articulate and very well spoken. You would make an amazing leader in Government.

@TomClonan If roderic the minister for children did half his job and stopped wasting his entire time falling over the illegal criminal migrants pouring in here he might wake up to the crisis here. 25,000 IPS here and none of them from a country needing protection from.

@TomClonan Well done Tom. If we could get a few more guys like you into the HSE we could sort out a lot of its problems. Those in HSE need to voice the problems and hopefully do better. The management has led to a culture of decision gridlock

@TomClonan I totally understand exactly what Tom is going/gone through, multiple that by 100 that’s what these beautiful kids have to go through every day! My daughter the very same! Olivia ❤️

@TomClonan Powerful stuff from Senator Tom, well done and said

@TomClonan Powerful, yes, but he needs to remind himself that the Dr he mentions as a 'whistleblower' hero is the guy guilty of putting non-medical springs in children's spines.

@TomClonan Well said Tom, the whole thing is a national disgrace.

@TomClonan One of the most powerful contributions I have ever witnessed in politics. Insightful in so many aspects.

@TomClonan The avalanche of negative consequences continues re disastrous narrative 90s-2023 surrounding NCH .Their defence, administration & implementation of the unfathomable decision in regard to the siting of New Children's Hospital is becoming a nightmare, the house is now on 🔥

@TomClonan We are a failed state, anyone arguing otherwise is simply not paying attention

@TomClonan They should build a prison with some of the wasted money funneled out during the building of the new children’s hospital and throw every pos corrupt businessman and politician in it

@TomClonan Empty words imo those responsible need to pay a heavy price.

@TomClonan I agree with Tom, but he’s directing his frustration at the wrong people. These people are working in a system dominated by politics, unions and interest groups. The reasons for these issues are complex and long running, but these individuals are not the actual cause.
