Indeed it was! For us light drops started JUST as the leaders crossed the start/finish line exiting the tri-oval. Def understandable why the caution wasn't out yet, happened fast and partial track, perfect storm!

The Honor Lightning humanoid is built tough!! During the Beijing Half Marathon, it fell just metres from the finish line, got back up, and kept going. It crossed the line with the fastest time of 48m 19s, but was penalized with a 1.2x time multiplier for being teleoperated and missed the podium.

In 1992, a man in shorts and a Nike cap barged past security at the Barcelona Olympics and ran onto the track during the 400m semifinal. His son, British sprinter Derek Redmond, was hopping alone toward the finish line after his hamstring tore mid-race. Redmond had survived eight operations just to reach that starting line, posted the fastest first round time, and won his quarterfinal. When he went down, he waved off the stretcher and got back up. His father Jim put his arm around him and said: “We started this together, and we’ll finish it together.” They crossed the line dead last, 65,000 people on their feet. Because his father helped him, Derek was disqualified under track rules. The official record lists him as DNF, Did Not Finish.
