Insane, but what is even more insane is being the only MLA who actually spoke out against the substance of the bill.

This is worth watching - the BC Conservatives can’t justify their plan to kill the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act - which would set reconciliation back a generation and mean fighting endlessly in court instead of working together to build a great future for everyone.

We don’t need a “skinny” reconciliation bill. For MONTHS, the Senate has been doing NOTHING. The American people want RESULTS. We need to privatize TSA and pass the Save America Act, just to name a few. With another Reconciliation bill, Republicans can ACTUALLY DELIVER for Americans and codify President Trump’s agenda. We need to do whatever it takes.

Did you know, Carney’s Liberal government’s Bill C-37 violates international law surrounding First Nations' clean drinking water, this includes United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Even though it mentions UNDRIP, it deliberately excludes Article 25 that protects Indigenous people’s traditionally owned waters and coastal seas. Bill C-37 is a clear violation of Indigenous rights, and it must be significantly amended, or else rejected altogether.

In 1992 the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Rigoberta Menchú Tum from Guatemala, in recognition of her work for social justice and ethno-cultural reconciliation based on respect for the rights of indigenous peoples. Like many other countries in South and Central America, Guatemala has experienced great tension between the descendants of European immigrants and the indigenous population. In the 1970s and 1980s, that tension came to a head in the large-scale repression of indigenous peoples. Menchu has come to play an increasingly prominent part as an advocate of indigenous rights. Rigoberta Menchú grew up in poverty, in a family which has undergone the most brutal suppression and persecution. In her social and political work, she has always borne in mind that the long-term objective of the struggle is peace. It's time for him to resign and scrap the UN's catastrophic DRIPA:
