India will continue to invest in renewable energy, and we have been steadily building on that commitment. Carbon capture strategies have been funded in the Union Budget 2026–27 so that they can be implemented across the country. They are being incentivised. Furthermore, we have achieved two-thirds of our nationally determined commitments in the renewable sector and that too four years ahead of the target date. – Smt. India, today, has reached such a level that countries globally are recognising it for its achievements. And Operation Sindoor actually showed that. Look at the way our armed forces handled the situation. They were very clear from the beginning to the end that they wanted to attack the terrorist centres and hit them. If they (Pakistan) were rational enough, they wouldn't have done any more mischief because they don't take any action against terrorist, they allow them to roam in their country freely. Pakistan, literally, has become the fountainhead for terrorism. India, however, was determined not to allow its citizens to suffer and thereafter we hit the air bases in Pakistan. We had the technology which could talk between the three forces. We carried out hits at precise targets and there was no wrong attack. - Smt Nirmala Sitharaman on #OperationSindoor.

When the British came to India, we were at 33% of the world's GDP. When the British left in 1947, we were at 2% of the world's GDP. Some of this was taken from us, but mostly it was because they developed new technologies. We forgot to create new technologies. We forgot to adopt new technologies. And since 1947, we have been trying to organise ourselves as a new country, as a young country. Around 1991, we started liberalisation. And now we are at around 4% of the world's GDP. Going from 2% to 4% is actually a 100% increase. But this is still very low... Countries with a young population are good at adopting new patterns. Where are those countries? If you look at Japan, it has become old. If you look at China, it has suddenly become old... India, we will remain young until 2050-2060. We have two young countries in neigbourhood, Pakistan and Bangladesh, but they are not technology adopters. They want to live the life they did 1600 years ago. Then go to Africa, they are fighting among themselves. Go to Europe, it has become old. Go to America, there will be fewer people in 2026 than in 2025...Now we are technology adopters.
