The hoboes of the Ummah have erected illegal structures all over the banks of almost all major rivers of India including Ganga & they are continuously contaminating & polluting water not only by human waste but also by dumping remains of animals after slaughter.

We need more stuff like this. I agree that there is much to be done in terms of civic sense in India but it is not as bad as what the world media and social media always portray

Happy to see this, but Indians can work on civic sense which is below what is part for other countries with a similar income levels. This shows both the failures of the local municipalities and state governments rather than the central government. For example, It pains me to see how people do Pooja to Ganga Ma and insensitively dump plastic and other items into the river. But things are getting better slowly.

Ganga is not dirty till Haridwar. At Haridwar, 80% water gets diverted towards Delhi Haryana and only the rest flow in main river. Then comes addition of tributaries which have untreated sewage water. If you take bath after Haridwar, you are basically bathing in sewage water.

This is deceptive. This is most likely upstream of major population centers where the send 3 billion litters of untreated sewage water flow into the river a day.
