The commitment from the Government of India is that we want Canadian investors to come and have greater engagement with India. India is the economy in which people should take interest, because with that kind of population, with that kind of purchasing power, consumption and demand exist. India should be the place where all of us will have to really put interest, in the sense of investing both money and our attention. - Smt Nirmala Sitharaman in Toronto

Our discussions centred around three broad categories. The first one is macroeconomic developments, which we have to assess for ourselves and domestic policy priorities for both countries, each for its own. So India has demonstrated remarkable macroeconomic resilience. We also recognised the complementarities between the two economies, India and Canada, and the considerable scope to deepen investment and economic cooperation. - Smt Nirmala Sitharaman in Toronto (1/n)

Chancellor Merz: we are elevating our bilateral relations with Ukraine to the level of a strategic partnership. During a joint press-conference with President Zelenskyy, he said: Our cooperation [with Ukraine] is now more effective, our partnership based on trust is stronger, and our friendship and the bonds between our societies are deeper than ever. In this regard, it is only logical that we are today elevating our bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership, for we want - even more so than in the past - to learn from one another and invest in our shared future.

Watch Mr. Pranav Kapuria, Managing Director, The Hi-Tech Gears, describe his experience after attending a high-level Business Roundtable discussion with Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, in Toronto, Canada: “We had a wonderful interaction with the Honourable Finance Minister, the High Commissioner, we had the Chief Economic Advisor. It was a diverse group of Canadian industry houses and of course institutional leaders. And I think it was a very candid conversation where a lot of opportunities between India and Canada which is a natural cultural integration and industry integration. A lot of things were talked about and I think a lot of opportunities will emerge. There's already a lot of government-to-government and bureaucracy-to-bureaucracy work which is happening. India and Canada are extremely complementary economies and countries and I think I look forward to just a deeper relationship. We as a company have manufacturing facilities in Canada and India and we already experience the value that we can add to being a globally competitive organisation. Thank you.” India in Canada

A good meeting with members of the House of Representatives of Japan’s National Diet, led by Itsunori Onodera. It is important that precisely on such difficult days for our people as these, when waves of Russian “shaheds” are constantly terrorizing our people, representatives of our partners are always here to see and feel what is happening. Today alone, a “shahed” struck a school while classes were in session, there were strikes on the Pivdennyi Bridge in Kyiv, and attacks on energy infrastructure continue unabated. And it is important that Japan and our other partners know exactly what risks all of this poses. We greatly value all the economic and humanitarian support since the beginning of Russia’s war, as well as the level of our relations with Japan. In New York, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and I discussed how to do more for bilateral relations between our countries and for our security – that of Ukraine, Japan, and all democratic countries. We agreed to remain in active communication.

#WATCH | Astana, Kazakhstan: India's ambassador to Kazakhstan, Y.K. Sailas Thangal, says, "Our economies are not competitors. Our economies complement one another, providing opportunities for both countries. 1 billion dollars between India and Kazakhstan does not reflect the 1.4 billion market of India and innovation centers, ecosystems... On the other hand, Kazakhstan in itself is an economic power, a powerhouse of Central Asia with huge potential, strategic connectivity, and geographical location... It is in this context that the Embassy of India worked with stakeholders in Kazakhstan to take 120 Kazakh businessmen and representatives to organize the India-Kazakhstan Trade and Investment Forum... I am hopeful that such kind of interactions will increase understanding and knowledge or fill the information gap between the markets of Kazakhstan and also India in various sectors..."

Armenia's PM Pashinyan on ties with Russia & EU: Our relations with Russia are in a transformation phase — and I consider that transformation positive. Our relations with Russia are open and sincere. We have kept no dark corners in that relationship. We will continue working in the Eurasian Economic Union until the moment when a choice between the EU and the EAEU becomes unavoidable. That decision must naturally be made by the people of Armenia in a referendum.
