They think they have a strong command of the English language as they do this too. Then they speak with someone who has a robust vocabulary and they can’t understand half of what you said to them. But they will never tell you they don’t understand because of their ego.

If I permanently moved to another country with a different language, I would make every effort to learn that language. And I wouldn't expect that country's citizens to change their language or culture for me. Just common sense and respect.
