They guy is clearly a hard working good natured man. With that said he is extremely naive. As the empire dies the purpose of its founding stock is to die to maintain the elite and the empire, it’s a 4K HD version of late Rome. They even got the “everyone on Roman territory is not Roman” part to match. He’s also asking to produce more while at record low prices. Not a great plan. A viable solution is to read Lenin’s “what is to be done” and ignore the maxist crap in it. Then either a) embrace those ideas seriously or b) don’t bother and enjoy life to the best your station can provide. There is no middle ground or negotiation to be had.

The logging industry in both the USA and Canada, has to SHRINK!!! This is because of the mismanagement of the Communist system where forests are managed by committees of bureaucrats to meet the needs of the larege loging company executives. The loggers, the sawmill workers and the people who live in and near the forest, have no real input into the Cimmunist system. However, the prime timber is almost all gone, and the second generation forests do not produce the same kind of timber. It is weak, flimsy, and only works for building because the new houses are held together with glue, including the glue in the chipboard panels. These large companies have to fail because they shot themselves in the foot and there is no benefit in proping them up. The forst management has to move out of the hands of bureaucrats and into private owners. Either private land owners who manage their trees how they see fit, or private lease owners who have a lease to a tract of public forest land. For the land owners, they should be controlled by having to pay for damage that they cause outside their property. If they clearcut and runoff fills a salmon stream with dirt, they pay to clean it up. This alone will get rid of clearcutting and see regerative forest management thrive. For lease owners it has to be more controlled because they are leasing multiple use land. They must preserve wildlife and recreational capabilities of the land. Do not cut trees near a campsite beside a lake unless it is to remove lightning or wind damaged trees, or to thin out a small percentage of mature trees., There needs to be rules around this and some kind of committee of forest landowners and forest leaseholders who can be consulted if the public sees something they think is wrong. There needs to be local control, either at the county level, or some kind of collection of adjacent counties that share the same forest ecosystem/watershed.

It’s not too good up in the Northeast. Finch paper just closed its doors leaving Glens Falls NY to go the way of many other paper mill towns like Berlin NH. Even the bigger hardwood producers like HHP ship their veneer quality logs to China rather than process them on site.

It’s a supply and demand product. You can’t force it to do anything. When lumber is selling you cut more trees. Here in NC they cut the hell out of pine until the yard gets full then they will cut it off. Mostly the lumber company owns the land they harvest and the replant and cut it again in 20 years.

Not in the timber industry but unless you are willing to clear cut your nation to sell to foreigners, the demand will continue over time go down. Agro Nationalism is designed for a less efficient, more rural growing population and so it has few cures for this.
