🇵🇰 | Pakistan's new deterrence equation 🔺️Following the four-day military conflict with India in May, Pakistan created a new Army Rocket Force Command (ARFC). 🔺️Some dismiss it as a hurried move in the aftermath of recent Indo-Pak tensions. Others suspect it signals a shift toward escalation. Both views miss the point. 🔺️Background discussions with relevant authorities suggest the ARFC is not an overnight reaction but rather the culmination of a long, painstaking evolution in Pakistan's conventional military doctrine. For decades, Pakistan has been grappling with a fundamental challenge on how to balance India's overwhelming conventional superiority without sliding into overreliance on nuclear weapons. The answer, refined gradually by military planners and scientists, has been to strengthen long-range conventional strike options. The ARFC is the manifestation of that journey. At its core, ARFC consolidates Pakistan's long-range rocket and missile capabilities under a single command structure. Until now, artillery divisions with long-range vectors were dispersed, operating in relative isolation. Bringing them together under one umbrella reflects an effort at synergy, efficiency and doctrinal clarity. It is about using what already exists in a smarter way. The Fateh-series rockets stand at the heart of this project. With their enhanced range and precision, they symbolise a new phase in Pakistan's conventional response regime. These rockets are not just about raw firepower, they are about control, flexibility and credible deterrence short of the nuclear threshold. In future conflicts, such capabilities will allow Pakistan to deliver short, sharp and intense firepower duels in order to impose costs without inviting full-scale war. The timing of ARFC's unveiling invites speculation. India has been steadily expanding its conventional military edge, investing in missile defence systems and modernising its forces. Against this backdrop, Pakistan's move is as much about perception management as operational readiness. By institutionalising ARFC, Islamabad sends a clear signal. It has the means to circumvent India's air defence umbrella and strike across its territory. This matters in deterrence psychology. If India believes Pakistan lacks credible conventional responses, it may be tempted to push the envelope. The ARFC is designed to raise those costs and close that window of temptation. South Asia's deterrence debate has long been dominated by the nuclear question. Yet deterrence does not begin and end with nuclear weapons. Conventional capabilities matter. They shape the spectrum of conflict that exists below the nuclear threshold. ARFC serves as what analysts call an "operational leveler". It dilutes conventional asymmetry and complicates Indian war plans. By holding high-value targets at risk deep inside Indian territory, ARFC expands Pakistan's options in the event of a crisis. 🚨🇷🇺🇰🇵 NATO IN PANIC: NORTH KOREAN LAUNCHERS COULD GIVE RUSSIA NEW BALLISTIC MISSILE FORCE Russia is reportedly set to receive additional North Korean launchers for KN-23 and KN-24 ballistic missiles. And here's the important part: dedicated transporter-erector-launchers would allow Russian forces to field complete mobile units around them without increasing the burden on Russia’s Iskander brigades. 🔸 The main bottleneck has been the launcher fleet. Missiles can be stored and transported separately, but they cannot become a sustained battlefield force without heavy mobile platforms able to move, hide, erect and fire them. 🔸 Original North Korean launchers would allow KN-23 and KN-24 batteries to disperse across a wider area, relocate after firing and operate independently of fixed launch sites. 🔸 The solid-fuel KN-23 carries a roughly 500 kg warhead to around 450 km, with longer ranges possible using a lighter payload. Its low, manoeuvring trajectory is designed to make interception more difficult. 🔸 The KN-24 has a range of about 410 km and carries an estimated 400–500 kg payload. Together, the two systems can strike airfields, command posts, logistics hubs and air-defence sites far behind the front. 🔸 Separate Korean-made missile units would expand the number of ballistic strikes Russia can prepare at the same time while preserving Iskander launchers and Russian-made missiles for other missions. 🔸 Pyongyang would gain something equally valuable: real combat data. Every launch provides information on reliability, accuracy, enemy interception attempts and the demands of sustained wartime use — experience no peacetime test range can reproduce. The launchers are what turn imported missiles into a parallel mobile strike force. More firing units, more launch locations and more ballistic threats would make Ukraine’s air-defence planning significantly harder. Belarus has become Russia’s nuclear staging ground. Belarus has not been annexed. But functionally, it has already become part of Russia. Lukashenko has long existed only with the Kremlin’s permission. When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Lukashenko officially appeared to be a bystander - yet missiles and columns of tanks moved through Belarusian territory. Russia used it as its own operational zone. In March 2023, Putin announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons. In December 2024, Russia and Belarus signed the Treaty on Security Guarantees that legalized permanent Russian bases and legally included Belarus in Russia’s nuclear strategy. Since mid-2025, around 2,000 Russian troops have been permanently stationed in Belarus, including air defense and aerospace units. In December 2025, the Oreshnik ballistic missile entered combat duty near Krychaw. In May 2026, large-scale joint nuclear exercises were held: 64,000 troops, 200 missile launchers, 73 surface ships, and 13 submarines. The nuclear sharing agreement marks a departure from Russia’s long-standing position, as Moscow spent decades criticizing NATO’s nuclear-sharing arrangements. Now it is reproducing the same model it once condemned. The 2024 nuclear doctrine explicitly equated a conventional attack on Belarus with an attack on Russia - automatically creating conditions for a nuclear response. Control over the warheads officially remains with Moscow. But Putin stated that Lukashenko himself would select targets for Oreshnik deployed in Belarus. In other words, the Belarusian president would bear public responsibility for missiles launched by Putin. Now to the arsenal and the numbers. As of March 2026, Russia possesses around 4,400 nuclear warheads in total, of which up to 2,000 are assigned to non-strategic tactical forces. Belarus hosts Iskander-M - the 465th missile brigade in Asipovichy. Range: up to 500 km. Accuracy: 5-7 meters. Nuclear warhead: 10-50 kilotons. Vilnius is just 340 km away. Flight time: 3-4 minutes. NATO would have virtually no warning time. Oreshnik belongs to another category. Speed exceeds 14,000 km/h. Up to six independent MIRV blocks, each capable of deploying up to six sub-warheads. Range exceeds 5,500 km. Interception by modern air defense systems is almost impossible. From Belarusian positions, Oreshnik can reach an airbase in Poland in 11 minutes and NATO headquarters in Brussels in 17 minutes. Berlin, Ramstein, and Warsaw all fall within range. According to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, only three missiles had been produced at the time of deployment. One was used against Dnipro in November 2024. One was destroyed in Kapustin Yar during a joint operation involving Ukraine’s Security Service, Defense Intelligence, and Foreign Intelligence Service. The Kremlin plans to produce up to six missiles per year. There is also Lida airbase - just 40 km from the Lithuanian border. Modified Su-25 aircraft are capable of carrying nuclear bombs. The most dangerous problem is neither range nor speed. It is the impossibility of identification. Until the moment of impact, it is impossible to determine whether Oreshnik carries a nuclear or conventional warhead. Every launch is an automatic nuclear alarm regardless of the actual payload. This ambiguity is a strategic weapon no less important than the warhead itself. Now to the likely scenarios. ◾️ The most likely scenario is not total nuclear war. It is a "demonstration strike": a single low-yield tactical strike against a peripheral military base - for example, an airfield in Poland or the Baltics. The goal is not destruction but testing Article 5. The Kremlin’s logic: "You will not launch a nuclear response over a single tactical strike." ◾️ The second scenario is an Oreshnik strike against a NATO logistics hub: Rzeszów, Ramstein, Warsaw. Most likely with conventional warheads. But this cannot be confirmed before impact. Even a conventional strike under the carrier’s nuclear ambiguity could freeze weapons transit to Ukraine. Shock and fear of escalation alone would be a sufficient outcome for the Kremlin. ◾️ The third scenario is a strike on a nuclear power plant with a conventional warhead. A radiological effect without the formal use of weapons of mass destruction. Maximum psychological pressure on Europe. ◾️ The fourth: a new ground offensive against Ukraine launched from Belarusian territory under nuclear blackmail. NATO freezes, Ukraine becomes isolated, and the frontline shrinks by 400 kilometers. Finally, let’s turn to the West’s response - or the absence of one. No symmetrical nuclear response followed. NATO did not deploy nuclear weapons in the Baltics or Poland. The response remained conventional: additional brigades and expanded air defense. New START expired in February 2026. No new treaty exists. Verification of nuclear arsenals is effectively absent. The United States abandoned the "voluntary compliance with limits" proposed by Russia. Patriot and THAAD were not designed to intercept targets at Mach 10 with maneuvering flight trajectories. Kyiv directly called Belarus’s transformation into a "nuclear outpost" near NATO borders an unprecedented challenge to the global security architecture and a dangerous precedent that de facto legitimizes nuclear proliferation among authoritarian regimes.

Today marks the start of China’s annual Spring Festival travel rush, known as Chunyun. Over the next 40 days, the railway system is projected to handle 539 million trips, making it the largest periodic human migration in history. For at least three millennia, the Spring Festival has been China’s most significant holiday. “Going home for the family reunion” has become a deeply ingrained cultural expectation. About a quarter of China’s population consists of floating residents who live or work outside their registered hometowns, often in other cities or provinces. For them, rail travel is the preferred option, given that nearly every Chinese city with over 200k residents is connected by rail, not to mention the advantages of speed, affordability, and frequent services. The Spring Festival travel rush poses severe challenges to China’s public transportation system, especially its high-speed rail system. In 2008, a rare snowstorm hit the typically mild southern regions during the holiday, stranding 400k people at Guangzhou station for 11 days. This incident underscored the urgency for the government to accelerate high-speed rail development. Since then, China’s high-speed rail network has drawn lessons from daily operations, refining timetables and introducing new trains to prioritize safety, punctuality, and comfort. Today, amid hundreds of millions of passengers, the on-time rate during Chunyun reaches 99%, with no major accidents reported. In reality, China’s high-speed rail program started late and lacked any initial global advantages. During a visit to Japan in 1978, then China’s top leader-to-be Deng Xiaoping boarded Shinkansen and expressed admiration for the bullet train, remarking that it “urges China to run faster.” It took another 30 years for China to launch its first high-speed rail line, connecting the capital Beijing to Tianjin, with a distance comparable to New York to Philadelphia. By the end of 2025, China’s high-speed rail mileage exceeds twice the combined total of all other countries, enough to circle the equator 1.25 times. This expanded network meets the demands of a growing number of passengers, supported by features like mobile apps and real-name ticketing, which have put an end to the need to queue overnight at ticket counters as was routine decades ago. However, during Chunyun’s peak periods—such as the first and last days of the holiday—travelers still need to snap up tickets swiftly. Thus, for longer distances, many choose flights; others prefer the greater flexibility of self-driving, which has become the primary mode of transportation.

IDF: On June 13, the IDF launched Operation "Rising Lion", with the aim of damaging the Iranian regime's nuclear and missile projects, after progress was identified in three programs whose ultimate goal was to destroy the State of Israel. The first is nuclear weapons, the progress of which by the Iranian regime has reached a point very close to producing weapons if a decision is made. At the same time, the missile project was advanced and the stock of precision missiles grew from about 2,500 to 8,000 in two years. And above both of them, another one was erected - the plan to "destroy Israel." This is a multi-sector attack that will begin with missile fire from Iran and all its branches, to which will be added a mass ground invasion by militias through all of Israel's borders. The IDF came to the understanding that this was the right time to launch the operation for which they had been optimally preparing, given the approach to the point of no return. The IDF launched a surprising and deceptive opening strike, 1,500 km from the territory of the State of Israel. In the attack, nine nuclear scientists and 30 senior figures in the Iranian regime's security chain of command were eliminated, including the three most senior commanders. From that moment on and throughout the 12 days of the operation, the IDF created increasing achievement and complete freedom of aerial action in the heart of Iran and fully met the objectives defined for the operation. Throughout the entire operation, high-quality and accurate intelligence, along with operational, technological and aerial capabilities, were evident. And alongside the entire offensive effort, the defense systems operated day and night. The three main nuclear sites of the Iranian regime were significantly damaged. Among them, the uranium enrichment sites of Fordow and Natanz, and the site in Isfahan where enriched uranium was reconverted to a metallic form, and the main conversion components there were destroyed. In addition, thousands of centrifuges, research and development sites, headquarters infrastructure and unique documentation of the nuclear program were destroyed. In order to thwart the future of the program, 11 senior nuclear scientists who were central knowledge centers in the Iranian weapons group were eliminated, and to prevent the future use of the inactive nuclear reactor at Arak, it was also attacked. To disrupt it, the key building blocks of the missile manufacturing industry were attacked. More than 35 sites were attacked, 200 launchers and 50% of all the Iranian regime's launchers were completely destroyed. In total, more than 1,500 components, 15 enemy aircraft, more than 90 targets and 80 surface-to-air missile launchers and 6 airfields were attacked. Hundreds of Iranian military forces were eliminated, dozens of commanders were attacked and more than 30 senior members of the Iranian regime's security apparatus were thwarted The Air Force carried out 1,500 sorties and about 600 refuelings that were made en route to Iran. In the entire operation, 1,400 strikes were carried out by the fighter formation and 500 by the UAV formation, and the furthest of them was carried out at Mashhad airport, about 2,400 km from Israel, by a fighter jet. In addition, hundreds of interceptions of anti-aircraft missiles and drones were carried out. In total, 99% of the drones launched from Iran were intercepted. In the maritime arena, approximately 30 additional UAVs were intercepted by missile ships in the Mediterranean and Red Seas. These carried out more than 3,500 operational sea hours, and were manned at any given moment by more than 1,000 fighters at any given moment.

Big push to Self-reliance in Unmanned Aerial Systems Hon’able PM on his visit to Nagpur on 30 Mar 2025, made his last halt of the day at Solar Defence & Aerospace Ltd (SDAL) Nagpur. Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, Chairman and Mr Raghav Nuwal welcomed the Hon’able PM at SDAL Helipad. From there he was escorted to Technical Area where Hon’ble PM inaugurated Loiter Munition Test Range. Spread over 1080 acres this test range has a dedicated Command & Control Centre, UAV Take off Area, Endurance and Communication Range check facility, Parachute Recovery Area, Static & Moving Target Engagement, Target Hit and CEP Measurement, Warhead Lethality Test facility, and many more. After the inauguration the PM visited the product gallery wherein SDAL showcased its products like Pinaka Rocket System, Air-bombs, Mines, Grenade, Military Explosives, ATGM, Nagastra 1 & 2 Loiter Munitions, and many more. Thereafter, the PM was then escorted by the Chairman to the newly constructed Air strip where he was received by Mr. Manish Nuwal, MD & CEO, SDAL. He then proceeded to unveil the Plaque to mark the Inauguration of the new 1.27 km Runway Facility for Development & Testing of MALE/HALE Class Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Solar has taken a big initiative for developing a MALE UAV and a suo-moto proposal has already been submitted to IAF which is under consideration. Loiter Munition (Nagastra 3), Bhargavastra (Micro-Missile based Counter Drone System) and Bhaumastra (Mine Detection & Disposal System). Key highlights of displayed systems are as follows: - • Loitering Munitions: Many Indian industries and start-ups have entered drone related technologies and systems mostly focused on surveillance and logistics applications. Use of drones and UAVs for combat applications requires critical competency and infrastructure. Keeping in view the futuristic requirements of this emerging technology, SIDAL has taken the initiative to develop Nagastra series of Loiter Munitions of ranges from 15 km to more than 100 km and explosive payload carrying capability from 1 kg to 10 kg. Nagastra 3 is a Vehicle Launched Loiter Munition System of endurance 3 hours, range 100 km and can carry 8.5 kg warhead. It is being developed under Make 2 project from Arty of Indian Army. • Bhargavastra is an indigenously designed and developed Counter Drone System meant for quick interception of drones for an assured hard kill using tiny, guided missiles with swarm engagement capability. This solution offers mobile protection against drone attacks with near simultaneous engagement of multiple drones. With a long range of detection (upto 6 km) and long range of neutralization (upto 2.5 km), it ensures safety of vulnerable assets/battlefield formations. • SDAL has taken an initiative to address the global menace of land mines detection and disposal. As per some estimates there are more than 11 million buried mines world over which remain uncleared and are causing casualties or maiming of both soldiers and civilians in peace time. Bhaumastra, a drone-based system under development by SDAL, would be the first of its kind in any developed nation to provide a drone-based solution to this global problem. It was a proud and inspirational moment for all the 10,000 employees of Solar Group, Nagpur to be witness to this important milestone in the History of their Company where the Prime Minister was among their midst. The Devil Boats are on the other side now. When we look at the Iran context, we need to dig deeper. The American fleet stationed there has 3-4 times more firepower than Israel had during those 12 days, but that shouldn’t be the main point. The real issue is the clash between two completely different naval doctrines: global power projection with large ships versus the mosquito fleet with its much smaller, even micro vessels, but armed with missiles. And there’s no assumption that these small craft are vulnerable to drones and air strikes, quite the opposite. Some of them are specifically dedicated to anti-air defense. I’m talking about an entire navy built around this concept facing a conventional navy. In the drone era, this would be the first time something like this happens on this scale.
