Grewal said, “Every time Ram Rahim gets parole, it adds salt to the wounds of Sikhs. We struggle for even an hour of parole, while rape convicts are granted bail regularly. Dogs are a part of society...This is cruel because dogs are social animals. They cannot live in confinement. It is not feasible for the Govt because such manpower and space for shelter homes are not possible. Instead of that, if we work on animal birth control, their population can be brought down in the next 10 days. That is what the Govt should do, work on animal birth control - not on confinement..."

Hemant Kumar Maurya, an advocate from the victims' side, says, "I would like to thank the Supreme Court today. The victim also wants to express her gratitude. The Supreme Court has issued a strong order to the lower courts stating that the accused will not be released from jail in any case, and the order granting relief has been stayed. The opposition has been given time to file a counter-affidavit, and until then, he will not be released from jail under any circumstances. This is the order of the Supreme Court, and there is a stay on the High Court's order."
