On the first Saturday of August 2026, which also happens to be the first day of the month, I’m putting together an event for 40 marketers across various disciplines. This one is for my Lagos people. When people hear events they roll their eyes because it’s always business as usual, a popular person is a key note speaker or there’s a panel and they discuss what they feel the audience wants to hear. Event attendees always leave unsatisfied. We are flipping this entire model on its head. For 2 to 3 hours, you’ll be in a room with multiple marketers where we will tackle those questions that you’ve had. For example if your boss is not approving your budgets or your channels are not printing the revenue you want, these are the kinds of answers you will find here. Manhunt for Parolee After 2 Deadly Robberies Days Apart in NYC NEW YORK — Police were searching Wednesday, August 26, 2026, for 31-year-old Jesus Acosta of the Soundview section of the Bronx, who is wanted in connection with two separate shootings that killed two men and wounded another. Shortly after midnight Sunday, August 23, police said two employees were shot during a robbery at American Best Wings & Pizza at 842 Rockaway Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn. MD Yousuf, 44, was shot in the head and later pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. A 39-year-old co-worker was shot in the leg and was reported in stable condition. About 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, a gunman entered 149 Grill & Deli at 143 East 149th Street near Walton Avenue in the Bronx. Surveillance video showed the suspect shoot customer Tayvon Shuler, 33, in the chest. Shuler was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he later died. Police said the gunman then took cash from the register and fled. A maroon hooded sweatshirt believed to have been worn by the suspect was recovered nearby on Walton Avenue. Acosta's parole officer reportedly identified him from the surveillance footage. Police said he was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and white sneakers. Authorities said Acosta has 13 prior arrests, including an armed robbery arrest at age 14. He was also arrested in connection with several other offenses before being convicted for a 2015 subway-platform shooting in Harlem. On May 5, 2015, following an argument aboard a northbound No. 2 train, Acosta shot a 20-year-old man in the left arm at the 110th Street-Malcolm X Plaza station. He later pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon and received an 11-year prison sentence. He was released on parole in April 2026 after serving about 10 years.
