2027 Team Thad 6’0” G Justin Frison out of Houston HS (Memphis, TN) had a dominant EYBL session in Memphis. 15.5 PPG | 9.5 AST | 6.5 REB | 2.9 STL | 52.5% FG | 50% 3PT (10-20) Frison is now hearing from these schools, his agency Sports Network tells me: Creighton UAB Wichita State West Virginia Xavier Ole Miss Nebraska Murray State Miami Ohio Belmont I was most impressed with how Frison controlled the game this weekend. Sets up his teammates extremely well (EYBL leader in ASTs) and is pesky on the defensive end (EYBL leader in STLs). Doesn’t matter if he has the ball in his hands or not, Frison is a net positive on the court. Expecting his recruitment to blow up this summer. MM+/HM- schools should be all over him. Justin F.

2028 4⭐️ 6’6” SF Joshua Huggins out of Briacrest HS has been the best player on the court for Team Thad 16U. 19 PPG | 6 REB | 3.6 AST Huggins tells me he’s been receiving plenty of HM interest since the live period started and has earned offers from: Memphis Mississippi State Ole Miss Murray State Boston College Tennessee State Alabama A&M Jacksonville Louisiana-Monroe Huggins’ physicality jumps off the film, averaging a ridiculous 7.9 FTA per game (83.6% FT%). Good change-of-pace for his size, and his athleticism pops. Huggins impressed with his playmaking skills for a bigger, score-first wing (3.6 AST per game), making several good reads. His FG% is inefficient through EYBL sessions 1/2 due to his role, but his FT% indicates good touch. It makes sense for Huggins to make the jump to Team Thad 17s, so we’ll see what happens the rest of the EYBL sessions.

NEWS: Iowa transfer 6’7” wing Seydou Traore tells me these schools have been involved recently: Memphis Kansas State Villanova UNLV Georgetown LSU West Virginia Traore is a really bouncy wing that is tough around the rim (66% FG) and is a good, natural cutter. Good lateral athleticism / strength combination that allows him to guard the 3-4 really effectively. Still coming into his shot, but looked more comfortable last year. Like the physical tools a lot, so upside is definitely there. Averaged 5.9 PTS and 3 REB on 44/27/64 shooting splits in 17 minutes per game last season at Iowa. In the season prior at Manhattan, Traore put up 11.8 PTS and 8.2 REB on 43/26/80 shooting splits in 32 minutes per game. Repped by WEAVE

🚨🚨 FLASHBACK 9/27/23: Newsom tells me and Joel Pollak that trans issues are “one of the greatest distractions” in American politics and mocks the idea that it's a pressing "front-and-center-issue" in the United States. He said we should be "ashamed" to be asking about it, despite months of headlines across the state about his state mandates directing schools to keep secrets about gender-transitioning of children as young as six from parents. He quickly moved on to friendlier soft-ball press questions. Newsom had just ordered civil rights investigations into multiple local California school boards that passed parental notification requirements conflicting with his state mandates to keep secrets from parents. The issue had been making front-page headlines on every major California newspaper in the state for months. This encounter with Newsom occurred in the spin room at the Reagan Library after the GOP presidential debate. NEWS: 2026 6’10” C Kaleb Davis from Houston HS (Memphis, TN) has now heard from these programs since Monday, his agency Sports Network LLC tells me: NC State Villanova Seton Hall Texas A&M UAB UT Arlington In addition to Virginia Tech, Charlotte, La Salle + others 📈 Davis’ 7’3” wingspan + defensive instincts allow for him to be an elite rim protector and make an immediate defensive impact next season (2nd in 3SSB in BLKs). Still raw on the offensive end (impact limited to mainly PNRs), but as an incoming freshman, he has time to make strides in that aspect of his game. Would be a great developmental big for any HM+ programs looking for depth and will make an immediate impact next season for any MMs/LMs still looking for bigs. He will be playing with Team Thad Nation 17Us this weekend in Memphis. Attached is his schedule.

Blue state residents 'fleeing in droves' after ‘insane’ progressive takeover, says top state attorney | Peter Pinedo, Fox News A top state attorney in Democrat-controlled Maryland says he has had enough and is throwing in the towel after saying the Old Line State has suffered an "insane" "ultra-progressive" takeover. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Haven Shoemaker, state attorney for Maryland’s Carroll County, said that after decades in public service, he is "sick to death" of the policies that "emanate" from the state capital in Annapolis. He said he is especially disgusted with Maryland’s "sanctuary" policies and the high taxes he said are being levied in part to pay for more services for illegal immigrants. "Maryland has become California on the Chesapeake," said Shoemaker. "It only gets worse. It's not getting better. And at some point, I just had to make a personal decision that it's time to throw in the towel and head for what I believe are greener pastures." Shoemaker is not the only one. He said that he sees Marylanders giving up on the state "all the time." "The State of Maryland has one of the worst outward migration numbers of any state in the country right now," he said. "So, I don't know who’s going to be the last to foot the bill for the profligate spending that Annapolis likes to engage in, but it's not going to be me, I can tell you that." Moore's office did not respond to Fox News Digital's questions. Fox News Digital also reached out to Maryland House Speaker Joseline A. Peña-Melnyk and Senate President Bill Ferguson for comment. Born in Baltimore in the 1960s, Shoemaker spent three decades in local and state politics before taking the job as Carroll County’s top prosecutor in 2023. His career in public service includes seven years as mayor of Hampstead, Maryland, four years as a Carroll County commissioner and nine years in the Maryland House of Delegates. He rose to the role of House Minority Whip for the Maryland Republican Party. Despite years deeply involved in state politics, Shoemaker said his decision to abandon Maryland has been a long time coming. "I've been contemplating this move for a while, but the linchpin for me was this most recent legislative session where they essentially made Maryland a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants," he told Fox News Digital. Earlier this year, the Maryland General Assembly passed an emergency measure to ban local and state law enforcement agencies from cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) through what is known as the 287(g) program. Maryland Democratic Gov. Wes Moore, whose name has been floated as a possible 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, signed the bill into law. While emphasizing that law enforcement would continue cooperating with ICE on deporting individuals who "pose a risk to public safety," Moore lauded the bill, saying, "We will not allow untrained, unqualified and unaccountable agents to deputize our brave local law enforcement officers," according to WYPR. While signing the measure, Moore stressed his view that "Maryland is a community of immigrants," saying, "It is not our weakness, it's our strength." Shoemaker, meanwhile, said that Maryland’s sanctuary-style policies are "just part of the problem." "In addition to that, their tax policy here is horrendous," he said. He pointed to how state leaders raised taxes in Maryland last year by $1.6 billion. The tax raise was passed by the State Assembly and approved by Democratic Gov. Wes Moore as part of a $67 billion state budget in 2025. The raise was part of a plan to address roughly a $3.3 billion budget deficit. Maryland’s budget is relatively large compared to other states, despite the state ranking 18th in population and 42nd in land size. Shoemaker said that state leaders are "already looking at a structural deficit going into next year's budget of another billion and a half or so." He asserted the "handwriting is on the wall" that "Maryland politicians are beholden to their ultra-progressive base." In the end, Shoemaker said that he has finally decided to escape to the South and head for North Carolina. "A lot of taxpayers from across the State of Maryland are fleeing in droves," he said. He added a warning to Moore and other Maryland leaders: "If you want to staunch the bleeding that's occurring, maybe you should rethink your policies."

Bill Maher asks how Mississippi is kicking California’s ass in education, and Texas is “blowing them away” in green energy for “way less money.” “Did you know that a black fourth grader in Mississippi is two and a half times as likely to be proficient in math and reading as one in California? Mississippi is kicking our ass in education and for way less money. We’re 37th in fourth-grade reading, they’re ninth.” “Texas is kicking our ass in green energy. The average time to get solar panels connected there is three to four months. About 1,000 days faster than it took me. Remember when I was trying to get my solar hooked up? It would have been quicker to build a windmill.” “Texas has passed California in solar and blows away California when it comes to wind and energy storage. How does a state with no pro-climate policies produce better climate results than a state where here, even though we have so much better bumper stickers on our Priuses?” “I’ll tell you why.
