Regardless of whether someone uses talk therapy or pharmacology, or a combination of the two to achieve relief from depression, ultimately, any relief they experience is the consequence of neural plasticity (also called neuroplasticity), which is essentially changes in the function of neural circuits in the brain and/or body. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) was discovered for its role in promoting the growth, survival, and neuroplasticity of neurons, although it has other roles as well. As ketamine has emerged as a treatment for certain forms of depression, it has become clear that it works through several different mechanisms, including changing the amount of inhibition in the brain and rewiring neural circuits. Interestingly, recent findings suggest that ketamine metabolites may actually mimic some of the effects of BDNF by binding to its receptor (called trkB, which, for you aficionados, is a tyrosine kinase). He has exceptionally strong experience in coordinating the security sector, as well as in the work carried out last winter to strengthen our resilience and support our people. As a result of these days and this week, we have strengthened our positions in the Kharkiv region. I thank the warriors of the 57th Motorized and the 82nd Air Assault Brigades. Our forces are also effectively destroying the occupiers in the Donetsk direction, particularly near Chasiv Yar and other locations. In fact, the occupiers fail to achieve their goal of stretching our forces thin and weakening Ukraine across a wide front from the Kharkiv to the Donetsk regions. I am grateful to every soldier, sergeant, and officer who complete combat missions and hold positions with sufficient bravery and resilience. These days, my special thanks go to the 41st Mechanized Brigade, DIU’s special forces units "Kraken" and "Artan,” as well as the National Guard units. I thank our warriors in particular for Chasiv Yar operations, as well as destroying Russian equipment and repelling Russian assaults. I would also like to specifically thank the 225th Assault Battalion. Well done, warriors!

I had a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and thanked her for the Danish model of direct investment in Ukraine's defense industry, which has been successfully implemented for a year now. We discussed coordination of our positions with partners, defense assistance, actions against Russia’s shadow fleet, and ways to preserve European unity and achieve a just and lasting peace through our joint efforts. We expect the EU’s 16th sanctions package to target Russian oil, the entire shadow fleet, as well as its captains and crew members. 🇺🇦🇩🇰

Today, we expand zero-shot drug design beyond binding to the design of multifunctional medicines, the intracellular proteome, and state-of-the-art atomic precision with our model, JAM-2. In a new report (below), we show: 1. The first drug-grade, fully computationally designed multispecific antibodies against five peptide-MHCs: Routine picomolar T-cell activation/cell-killing EC50s, >100-fold selectivity, and drug-like developability 2. The first fully generatively designed, drug-grade dual-variant KRAS G12 multispecifics: They recruit primary T-cells from human donors to kill G12V and G12C presenting cells at pM to single-digit-nM potency, completely sparing wild-type. 3. Atomic accuracy, from sequence alone: Angstrom-level agreement between Cryo-EM and JAM-2 de novo designs, requiring only target sequences (not structure) as input. 4. Unrivaled speed with an AI-native in-house wet lab: Designed, built, and tested five programs in one parallelized campaign, end-to-end in-house in ~6 weeks. 5. A higher validation bar for AI-generated drug candidates: In a field increasingly rife with hype and uneven standards of proof, we provide the highest quality public wet-lab validation of AI-designed antibodies to date. We share experimental methods in full, and invite folks to adopt and build on these standards. Truly individualized therapies will be the most important contribution of AI in drug design. I met with Ghana’s Foreign Minister Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa and thanked him for this visit, the first in our countries’ history. We discussed specific areas where we can advance our partnership: agriculture, defense cooperation, and expanding programs for Ghanaian students to study at Ukrainian universities. Ghana will chair the African Union next year, and it is important that we make the most of this period to strengthen ties between Ukraine and Africa. We also held detailed discussions on how Russia recruits citizens of Ghana and other countries in Africa to participate in the war against Ukraine, and how we can counter this. Our teams will remain in contact on this issue. I am grateful to Ghana for its clear support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for backing our positions in UN General Assembly resolutions.

We are thrilled to share that our first paper from my new lab, Spateo ( for spatiotemporal modeling of molecular holograms, is now online in Cell: Spateo is a comprehensive analytical framework for 3D whole-embryo spatiotemporal modeling. Its advanced features include: • 3D alignment and reconstruction at the whole-mouse-embryo scale (see the animation). • 3D spatial domain digitization and cell-cell communication analysis to understand spatial gene expression gradients and both inter- and intracellular communication. • 3D morphometric and volumetric analyses along with 3D morphogenesis vector field modeling to quantify dynamics such as surface area, volume, and cell density across organs, and to dissect the interplay between morphogenesis factors and cell migration. • A “Google Earth”-like browser, Spateo-viewer ( and for interactive and intuitive exploration of 3D spatial data. • Additional features, such as RNA signal-based single-cell segmentation. Today, I addressed representatives of partner countries and international organizations in Ukraine, as well as our diplomats. We have specific intelligence data indicating that Russia not only wants to disrupt the Peace Summit, but also has a specific plan for how to do so, including how to reduce the number of participating countries and how to act in order to thwart peace efforts for even longer. To counter this, we must work together, in unity, to achieve a just peace. We are all equally interested in forcing Russia to make peace and adhere to international law. The world majority can ensure this. The Global Peace Summit in Switzerland provides us with a real opportunity to achieve just peace and restore full force to international law. We are working together to focus the world's power on bringing a just peace to Ukraine.
